अब सूत्रकार निम्न-लिखित सूत्र में श्री भगवान् के उपदेश का वर्णन करते हैं:
तते णं समणे भगवं महावीरे सेणियस्स रन्नो भंभसारस्स चेल्लणादेवीए तीसे महइ-महालयाए परिसाए, इसि-परिसाए, जइ-परिसाए, मणुस्स-परिसाए, देव-परिसाए, अणेग-सयाए जाव धम्मो कहिओ, परिसा पडिगया, सेणियराया पडिगओ ।
ततो नु श्रमणेन भगवता महावीरेण श्रेणिकस्य राज्ञो भंभसारस्य चेल्लाणादेव्या तस्या महत्यां परिषदि, ऋषि-परिषदि, यति-परिषदि, मनुष्य-परिषदि, देव-परिषदि, अनेक-शतानां यावद्धर्मः कथितः, परिषत् प्रतिगता, श्रेणिको राजा प्रतिगतः ।
पदार्थान्वयः-तते णं-तत्पश्चात् समणे-श्रमण भगवं-भगवान् महावीरे-महावीर ने सेणियस्स-श्रेणिक रन्नो-राजा भंभसारस्स-भंभसार को, चेल्लणादेवीए-चेल्लणादेवी को, तीसे-उस महइ-बड़ी परिसाए-परिषद् को, इसि-परिसाए-ऋषि-परिषद् को, जइ-परिसाए-यतियों की परिषद् को, मणुस्स-परिसाए-मनुष्यों की परिषद् को, देव-परिसाए-देवों की परिषद् को और अणेग-सयाए-अन्य सैकड़ों मनुष्यों को जाव-यावत् धम्मो कहिओ-धर्म-कथा सुनाई परिसा पडिगया-धर्म-कथा सुनकर परिषद् चली गई सेणियराया-श्रेणिक राजा और चेल्लणादेवी भी पडिगओ-चले गये ।
मूलार्थ-इसके अनन्तर श्रमण भगवान् महावीर स्वामी ने श्रेणिक राजा भंभसार, चेल्लणादेवी, उस बड़ी से बड़ी परिषद्, जैसे-ऋषि-परिषद्, यति-परिषद्, मनुष्य-परिषद्, देव परिषद् और सैकड़ों अन्यों को धर्म-कथा सुनाई । धर्म कथा सुनकर परिषद् विसर्जित हुई और श्रेणिक राजा भी चले गये ।
टीका-इस सूत्र में वर्णन किया गया है कि जब श्री श्रमण भगवान् महावीर स्वामी के चरण-कमलों में सब परिषदें-जैसे-ऋषि-परिषद्, यति-परिषद्, मनुष्य-परिषद्, देव-परिषद्, साधु-परिषद्, महाव्रती-परिषद्-एकत्रित हो गई और असंख्य अन्य व्यक्ति
