इस प्रकार मैथुन सम्बन्धी बारहवें महा-मोहनीय कर्म का विषय वर्णन कर सूत्रकार अब विश्वास-घात और कृतघ्नता सम्बन्धी स्थानों का वर्णन करते हुए तेरहवें स्थान का वर्णन करते हैं :
जं निस्सिए उव्वहइ जससाहिगमेण वा । तस्स लुब्भइ वित्तंमि महामोहं पकुव्वइ ।।१३।। यन्निधित्योद्वहते यशसाभिगमेन वा । तस्य लुभ्यति वित्ते (यः) महामोहं प्रकुरुते ।।१३।।
पदार्थान्वयः-जं-जिसके निस्सिए-आश्रय से वा-अथवा जससा-यश से या अहिगमेण-सेवा से उव्वहइ-आजीविका करता है तस्स-उसी के वित्तंमि-धन पर लुभइ-लोभ करता है वह महामोह-महा-मोहनीय कर्म का पकुव्वइ-उपार्जन करता है।
मूलार्थ-जिसके आश्रय से, यश से अथवा सेवा से आजीविका होती है उसी के धन के लिए लोभ करने वाला महा-मोहनीय कर्म के बन्धन में आ जाता है ।
टीका-इस सूत्र में कृतघ्नता से उत्पन्न होने वाले महा-मोहनीय कर्म का विषय वर्णन किया गया है । यदि कोई व्यक्ति किसी राजा आदि के आश्रय में रहकर आजीविका करता हो अथवा उसके प्रताप से या उसकी सेवा से प्रसिद्ध तथा मान्य हो रहा हो और उसी (राजा) के धन को देख कर लोभ में आ जाय तथा किसी प्रकार से उस धन की चोरी करे या करावे तो वह महा-मोहनीय कर्म की उपार्जना करता है । क्योंकि जिसने उसका इतना उपकार किया उसी के साथ इस प्रकार अनुचित बर्ताव करने से करने वाले की आत्मा 'कृतघ्नता दोष' युक्त हो जाती है और वह किसी प्रकार से भी उक्त कर्म के बन्धन से नहीं छूट सकता । अतः प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को शिक्षा लेनी चाहिए कि कृतघ्नता एक अत्यन्त निकृष्ट पाप है । इस पाप से बचने के लिए सदैव प्रयत्न करते रहना चाहिए ।
सूत्र में 'जससा (यशसा) एक पद आया है | उसका तात्पर्य यह है “यशसा-तस्य नृपादेः सत्कृतोऽयमिति प्रसिद्ध्या” अर्थात् अमुक राजा के यहां इसका विशेष सत्कार है ६. इस प्रसिद्धि से जो उसको लाभ होते हैं ।

Because, by behaving in such an inappropriate way towards the one who has done him so much good, the soul of the doer becomes tainted with the 'fault of ingratitude' and he cannot escape the bondage of that karma in any way. Therefore, every person should learn that ingratitude is a very low sin. One should always strive to avoid this sin.
