किसी जानकार व्यक्ति को कलह-निवृत्ति करने के लिए मध्यस्थ बनावें और वह वास्तविक बात को जानते हुए भी यदि कुछ सत्य और बहत सी असत्य बातें कहने लगे तो स्वाभाविक ही शान्ति स्थापन की बजाय अधिक कलह हो जायगा और उससे स्थिति और भी भयङ्कर हो जायगी । परिणाम में उस मध्यस्थ व्यक्ति को महा-मोहनीय कर्म लगेगा । अतः जो कोई भी व्यक्ति कहीं भी मध्यस्थ नियत किया जाय, उसको सत्य के आधार पर ही उभय पक्ष में शान्ति स्थापन का प्रयत्न करना चाहिए । जिससे वह इस भयंकर कर्म के बन्धन में न आ सके । इसके साथ ही मध्यस्थ को किसी प्रकार का पक्षपात, लालच और लिहाज नहीं करना चाहिए नांही किसी प्रकार से घूस लेनी चाहिए ।
अब सूत्रकार दशवें स्थान का विषय वर्णन करते हैं :अणायगस्स नयवं दारे तस्सेव धंसिया ।। विउलं विक्खोभइत्ताणं किच्चा णं पडिबाहिरं ।। अनायकस्य नयवान् दारांस्तस्यैव ध्वंसयित्वा । विपुलं विक्षोभ्य कृत्वा नु प्रतिबहिः ।।
पदार्थान्वयः-नयवं-मन्त्री तस्सेव-उसी अणायगस्स-राजा की, जिसने अपने सारे राज्य का भार मन्त्रियों के ऊपर ही छोड़ा हुआ है दारे-स्त्रियों को अथवा लक्ष्मी को धंसिया-ध्वंस करके विउलं-अन्य बहुत से राजाओं का मन विक्खोभइत्ताणं-विक्षुब्ध करके अर्थात् उनका मन उससे फेर कर उस राजा को पडिबाहिरं किच्चा-राज्य से बाहिर कर (स्वयं राजा बन जाता है) णं-वाक्यालङ्कार के लिए है ।
मूलार्थ-यदि किसी राजा का मन्त्री राजा की स्त्रियों को अथवा लक्ष्मी को ध्वंस कर और इधर-उधर के अन्य राजाओं का मन उसके प्रतिकूल कर उसको राज्य से निकाल दे (और स्वयं राजा बन जाय-) ।
टीका-इस सूत्र में प्रतिपादन किया गया है कि किसी राजा का मन्त्री स्वयं राज्य पर अधिकार करने की इच्छा से यदि उस राजा की रानियों को अथवा राजलक्ष्मी-अर्थ (धन) के आगमन के मार्गों को बिगाड़ता है और राजा की प्रजा या उसके आधीन सामन्तों को उसके विपरीत भड़का कर प्रतिकूल कर देता है और समय पाकर उस राजा को है

If a knowledgeable person is made a mediator to resolve a conflict, and even though he knows the truth, he starts to say some true and many false things, then naturally, instead of establishing peace, more conflict will arise, and the situation will become even more terrible. As a result, that mediator will incur Maha-Mohaniya Karma. Therefore, whoever is appointed as a mediator anywhere, should try to establish peace between both parties based on truth. This will prevent him from falling into the bondage of this terrible Karma. Along with this, the mediator should not be biased, greedy, or show any favoritism, nor should he accept any bribes.
