षष्ठी दशा
हिन्दीभाषाटीकासहितम् ।
वा-तीन दिन उक्कोसेण-उत्कर्ष से नवमासे-नौ महीने तक विहरेज्जा-विचरण करे । से तं-यही नवमा-नौवीं उवासग-पडिमा-उपासक-प्रतिमा है ।
मूलार्थ-इसके अनन्तर नौवीं प्रतिमा प्रतिपादन करते हैं। इस प्रतिमा को ग्रहण करने वाले की सर्व-धर्म-विषयक रुचि होती है । वह यावद् रात्रि और दिन ब्रह्मचारी रहता है। वह सचित्त आहार और आरम्भ के करने और कराने का परित्याग कर देता है, किन्तु उद्दिष्ट भक्त का परित्याग नहीं करता । इस प्रकार के विहार से वह कम से कम एक, दो या तीन दिन और उत्कर्ष से नौ मास पर्यन्त इस प्रतिमा का आराधन करे । यही नौवीं उपासक-प्रतिमा है ।
टीका-इस सूत्र में नहीं प्रतिमा का विषय प्रतिपादन किया गया है । जो व्यक्ति इस प्रतिमा को ग्रहण करता है उसकी सर्व-धर्म-विषयक रुचि होती है और वह आठवीं प्रतिमा तक के सब नियमों का पालन करता है । वह उद्दिष्ट-भक्त का परित्याग नहीं करता अर्थात जो भोजन श्रावक के निमित्त तैयार किया जाता है उसका वह परित्याग नहीं करता प्रत्युत उसको ग्रहण कर लेता हे । हाँ, वह न तो स्वयं आरम्भ करता है न दूसरे लोगों से ही कराता है । किन्तु अनुमति देने का परित्याग उसने नहीं किया होता, इसी कारण वह उद्दिष्ट-भक्त को ग्रहण कर लेता है, क्योंकि गृहस्थ का सम्पूर्ण भार यद्यपि वह अपने सुयोग्य पुत्रादि को सौंप देता है तथापि उनके प्रति उसको ममत्व रहता ही है और वह समय-समय पर उनको अनुमति देता हुआ नौ मास तक नवी प्रतिमा का आराधन करता है । हाँ, यदि वह नौ मास से पूर्व ही मर जाए या दीक्षा ग्रहण कर ले तो प्रतिमा का समय जघन्य जानना चाहिए।
यदि यह पूछा जाय कि 'उद्दिष्ट-भक्त' का व्युत्पत्तिलभ्य और स्पष्ट अर्थ क्या है ? समाधान में कहा जाता है-"उद्दिष्टमुद्देशस्तेन कृतम् विहितम् उद्दिष्ट-कृतम्, तदर्थं संस्कृतमित्यर्थः । तद् च-उद्दिष्ट-कृत-भक्तम्, मध्यमपदलोपादुद्दिष्ट-भक्तमिति भवति । तत्तस्य प्रतिमाकर्तुः अपरिज्ञातम्-अप्रत्याख्यातं भवति, स्वमुद्दिश्य संस्कृतं भक्त-पानं परिभोगन्नयतीत्यर्थः ।” अर्थात् अपने निमित्त बने हुए भोजन का परित्याग न कर ग्रहण कर लेता है । वह नौवीं प्रतिमा-धारी को निषिद्ध नहीं है ।
