षष्ठी दशा
टीका-इस सूत्र से वर्णन किया गया है कि नास्तिक आत्मा १८ पापों से निवृत्ति नहीं कर सकता है । वह (१) प्राणातिपात (सब प्रकार की जीव-हिंसा) से निवृत्ति नहीं करता । सब प्रकार की कहने से तात्पर्य यह है कि जो लौकिक व्यवहार में भी निन्दनीय हैं उन हिंसाओं तक से निवृत्ति नहीं करता । उदाहरणार्थ बाल-घात, स्त्री-घात, विश्वास-घात, ऋषि-घात, ब्रह्मण-घात और गो-घात तक करने से नहीं हिचकता । इसी प्रकार अन्य पापों का भी ऊहापोह से ज्ञान कर लेना चाहिए । यहां हम साधरणतया उनका अर्थ दे देते हैं:
१. प्राणाति = सब प्रकार की जीव हिंसा २. मृषावाद = कूट साक्षी आदि मृषावाद । ३. अदत्तादान = चोरी । ४. मैथुन = मैथुन क्रियाएं, परदारा का सेवन आदि । ५. परिग्रह = ममत्व भाव | ६. क्रोध = क्रोध । ७. मान = अहंकार | ८. माया = छल, कपट | ६. लोभ = लोभ । १०. राग = काम रागादि । ११. द्वेष = द्वेष । १२. कलह = परस्पर भेद-भाव | १३. अभ्याख्यान = दूसरों को कलक्ङित करना । १४. पिशुनता = चुगली करना । १५. पर-परिवाद = लोगों के पीछे उनका अपवाद करना । १६. रति-अरति = पदार्थों के मिलने पर प्रसन्नता और न मिलने पर अप्रसन्ता । १७. माया-मृषा = छल-पूर्वक असत्य भाषण करना । जैसे-वेष-भूषा बदल कर

१८. मिथ्या-दर्शन-शल्य = पदार्थों के स्वरूप को अयथार्थता से वर्णन करना
तथा सत् पदार्थों को छिपाना और असत् (जिनकी सत्ता नहीं) पदार्थों को उद्भावित करना, जैसे आत्मा को अकर्ता और ईश्वर को कर्ता मानना ।
