तृतीय दशा ५
शैक्षो रात्निकस्य कथां कथयतः "नो स्मरसि" इति वक्ता भवत्याशातना शैक्षस्य ।२६।।
पदार्थान्वयः-सेहे-शिष्य रायणियस्स-रत्नाकर के कहं-कथा कहेमाणस्स-कहते हुए नो सुमरसि-आप भूलते हैं, आप को स्मरण नहीं है इति-इस प्रकार वत्ता-कहे तो सेहस्स शिष्य को आशातना भवइ-होती है ।
मूलार्थ-शिष्य रत्नाकर के कथा कहते हुए "आप भूलते हैं, आपको स्मरण नहीं" इस प्रकार कहे तो शिष्य को आशातना लगती है ।
टीका-इस सूत्र में बताया गया है कि यदि रत्नाकर या गुरू कथा कहता हो और शिष्य बीच में कह बैठे कि आप विषय को भूल गए हैं, वास्तव में यह विषय इस प्रकार है और उस विषय को भूल गए हैं, वास्तव में यह विषय इस प्रकार है और उस विषय का स्वयं वर्णन करने लग जाये तो उस (शिष्य) को आशातना लगती है, क्योंकि जनता पर अपना उत्कर्ष प्रकाशित करने के लिए उसने गुरू का तिरस्कार किया, इससे उसका आत्मा अविनय-युक्त होने से दुर्लभ-बोधि भाव की उपार्जना करने लगेगा । अतः इस प्रकार गुरू का तिरस्कार कदापि नहीं करना चाहिए ।
__ प्रश्न यह उपस्थित होता है कि यदि रत्नाकर सभा में अनुपयुक्त और प्रतिकूल भावों का वर्णन कर रहा हे तो शिष्य को क्या करना चाहिए ? उत्तर में कहा जाता है कि ऐसी अवस्था में सभ्यता-पूर्वक द्रव्य, क्षेत्र, काल और भाव को देखकर जैसा उचित समझे करे । यदि शिष्य को निश्चय हो जाये कि गुरू के कथन से जनता में मिथ्या-भाव फैल रहा है तथा इस वक्तव्य से बहुत से नर नारियों के अन्तःकरण से धर्म-वासना के नष्ट होने का भय है तो उसको उचित है निम्नलिखित राजनिति के अनुसार कार्य करे । जैसे-राजनीति (नीतिवाक्यमृत) में लिखा है कि यदि राजा किसी से वार्तालाप कर रहा हो तो मन्त्रियों को उचित है कि बीच में कुछ न कहें, किन्तु यदि राजा के वार्तालाप से राज्य का नाश होता है या जनता में क्लेश (विरोध) उत्पन्न होने की या किसी बलवान् राजा के आक्रमण की सम्भावना हो तो मन्त्रियों को समयानुसार स्वयं भाषण करना चाहिए । नीतिकार ने इस विषय को दृष्टान्त द्वारा स्वयं स्पष्ट कर दिया है-“पीयूष्मपिबतो बालस्य किन्न क्रियते कपोल-ताडनम्" यदि बालक स्तन पान न करे तो क्या माता उसके कपोलों का ताडन नहीं करती, अर्थात् अवश्य ही करती है । लेकिन वह ताड़न
