द्वितीया दशा
हिन्दीभाषाटीकासहितम् ।
इत्यादि रोग इसी कर्म के प्रभाव से होते हैं । तथा स्मृति शक्ति की न्यूनता, अप्रतिभा, मस्तक पर तेजका अभाव, मन की विशेष चञ्चलता, किसी पदार्थ में दृढ़ विश्वास न होना, सभा-आदि में लज्जा युक्त होना, आंखों के तेज का नाश, शीघ्र ही उष्ण होना, धैर्य्य की न्यूनता, आलस्य की वृद्धि, चित्त में भ्रम, बल का नाश, नपुंसकता, स्वप्न में वीर्य - पात तथा मूत्र साथ धातु - पतनादि विकार हस्त मैथुन से ही उत्पन्न होते हैं ।

हस्तमैथुन करने वाले के यहां सन्तति होना तो अलग रहा, वह इस दुष्कर्म को करने से अपने आप भी अल्पायु हो जाता है ।
संसार में ऐसा कोई सत्कर्म नहीं जिसका हस्त मैथुन से नाश नहीं होता नाहीं कोई ऐसा रोग है जिसका हस्त मैथुन करने वाले पर आक्रमण नहीं होता; क्योंकि प्रतिश्याय (जुकाम या शीत) के पुनः-२ होने से मस्तिष्क का खोखलापन, जठराग्नि मन्द होने से क्षुधा - मान्द्य (भूख कम लगना), रुधिर अधिक न होने से श्लेष्म-वृद्धि आदि होते ही रहते हैं । तथा सदा कब्जी रहने से शरीर मिट्टी सा हो जाता है । इसके अतिरिक्त ”जरामरणरोगशोकबाहुल्यम्" सूत्रोक्त सारे विकार उसके पीछे पड़े ही रहते हैं । अर्थात् मैथुन क्रिया से शारीरिक कान्ति का नाश, अपमृत्यु, रोग (शारीरिक रोग) और शोक (मानसिक चिन्ता) बढ़ते ही रहते हैं । अतः मूर्खता से पवित्र वीर्य का हस्त द्वारा नाश न करना चाहिए; क्योंकि इसकी रक्षा पर ही जीवन की सत्ता निर्भर है ।
हस्त मैथुन करने वाले अपने पवित्र सदाचार को शबल (दागी) बनाते हैं और शरीर को रोगों का घर बना कर अपने जीवन पर अपने हाथ से कुल्हाडा मारते हैं । अतः ऐसे कर्म कदापि न करने चाहिएं और अन्य व्यक्तियों से भी न कराने चाहिएं ना ही करने वालों को उत्साह देना चाहिए ।
अब सूत्रकार दूसरे शबल का विषय वर्णन करते है:
मेहुणं पडि सेवमाणे सबले ।। २ ।।
मैथुनं प्रति- सेवमानः शबलः ।। २ ।।
पदार्थान्वयः - मेहुणं - मैथुन, पडिसेवमाणे सेवन करते हुए, सबले - शबल दोष होता
है ।

And the diminution of memory power, lack of intelligence, absence of luster on the head, excessive restlessness of the mind, not having firm belief in any object, feeling shy in assemblies, etc., loss of luster of the eyes, becoming easily heated, lack of patience, increase in laziness, delusion in the mind, loss of strength, impotence, emission of semen in dreams and falling of semen along with urine - all these disorders are produced only by masturbation.

Not only that the one who indulges in masturbation becomes short-lived, but also this evil deed itself. There is no virtuous act in the world which is not destroyed by masturbation, nor is there any disease which does not attack the one who indulges in masturbation; because due to repeated colds, the hollowness of the brain, due to the weakening of the digestive fire, the lack of appetite, and due to the lack of sufficient blood, the increase of phlegm, etc. constantly occur. And due to constant constipation, the body becomes like earth. In addition to this, all the disorders mentioned in the sutra "Jaramaranaragasokabahullyam" constantly pursue him. That is, from the act of coitus, the destruction of physical luster, premature death, diseases (physical diseases) and sorrow (mental worry) keep increasing.
