51. Some people (in order to condemn the present administration) level false allegations against the government. They call one a thief who actually has not committed any theft. They name one quarrelsome who is quiet and humble. They pronounce one a loafer who is actually of good character. Thus they adversely affect one's reputation. They level allegation that one has improper relation with the wife of the teacher. Some level false allegation in order to affect one's reputation or to spoil his sources of livelihood. They say that the particular person is having sex with the wives of his friends, he is irreligious, untrustworthy and commits sins. He does such acts, which are not worthy to be performed. He is a vagabond. He has illicit relation with his sister, daughter-in-law and women of bad character. He is a bad character and commits many sins. Thus the jealous people level false allegations.
They have little care for the noble deeds and acts of compassion of good people. They are expert in making false speeches. They remain busy in narrating imaginary faults of others. They talk without proper knowledge. Thus they acquire extremely severe bondage of bad Karmas, which result in extreme trouble to their souls.
विवेचन : विविध वादियों की मिथ्या मान्यताओं की चर्चा करने के पश्चात् अन्य दूसरे कारणों से झूठ बोलने वालों की चर्चा प्रस्तुत पाठ में है। कुछ लोग ईर्ष्यालु होते हैं। कोई अच्छा शासनकर्त्ता है, तो उसकी कीर्ति में ईर्ष्या व द्वेष करके उन्हें बदनाम करने का या चरित्र हनन करने का प्रयत्न करते हैं। किसी की बढ़ती प्रतिष्ठा देखकर उन्हें घोर कष्ट होता है । दूसरों के सुख को देखकर जिन्हें तीव्र दुःख व जलन का अनुभव होता है। ऐसे लोग भद्र पुरुषों को अभद्रता से लांछित करते हैं । उन पर झूठे आरोप लगाते हैं। तटस्थ रहने वाले को लड़ाईझगड़ा करने वाला कहते हैं । जो सुशील-सदाचारी हैं, उन्हें वे कुशील कहने में संकोच नहीं करते। उनकी धृष्टता इतनी बढ़ जाती है कि वे उन सदाचारी पुरुषों को मित्र - पत्नी अथवा गुरु- पत्नी जो माता की कोटि में गिनी जाती है, उनके साथ गमन करने वाला तक कहते नहीं हिचकते । पुण्यशील पुरुष को पापी कहने की धृष्टता करते हैं। ऐसे व्यक्ति असत्य भाषण में कुशल, ईर्ष्या से प्रेरित होकर किसी को कुछ भी लांछन लगा देते हैं । वे यह भी नहीं सोचते कि मुझे परलोक में जाना है और इस मृषावाद मिथ्या दोषारोपण का कितना दुष्परिणाम भुगतना पड़ेगा । ऐसे लोग दूसरों को लांछित करके, अपमानित करके, उनकी प्रतिष्ठा को मलीन करके ऐसे घोरतर पापकर्मों का संचय करते हैं जो बड़ी कठिनाई से भोगे बिना नष्ट नहीं हो सकते। ऐसा असत्य भाषण करने वालों को नारकीय यातनाओं से बचाने की सद्भावना के साथ शास्त्रकार ने मृषावाद के अनेक प्रकारों तथा उसके दुष्परिणामों का यहाँ उल्लेख किया है और आगे भी करेंगे। 1
Elaboration-After discussing the false beliefs of various thinkers (schools of thought), the falsehood of others is discussed in this aphorism. Some people are jealous. Some are jealous of good administration and want to dishonour it due to their hatred towards it.
