उत्थान, कर्म, बल आदि शब्दों के अर्थ इस प्रकार हैं-उत्थान-उठने आदि की चेष्टा। कर्म-गमन ॐ आदि क्रिया। बल-शारीरिक शक्ति। वीर्य-मानसिक सामर्थ्य। पुरुषकार-पुरुषार्थ। पराक्रम-कार्य सम्पन्न + करने में सक्षम प्रयत्न । यह सभी एक जीव के एक समय में एक ही होता है।
Elaboration—At one time every being has only one mental activity, one vocal activity and one physical activity. In Agams there is a mention of four kinds of manoyoga (mental activity)---satyamanoyoga (mental activity associated with truth), mrishamanoyoga (mental activity i associated with falsity), satya-mrishamanoyoga (mixed mental activity) and anubhaya manoyoga (practical or conventional mental activity). Of these only one mental activity is possible at one time for one being.
In the same way out of the four vocal activities only one is possible at one time for one being.
There are said to be seven kinds of physical activities. Of these only one is possible at one time for one being.
The meanings of the terms utthan to parakram are as follows:--- utthan-effort to rise; harma-action, such as movement; bal-physical strength; virya-mental capacity; purushakar-intent to act; and parakram--effort capable of accomplishing an act. Of each of these only one category is possible at one time for one being.

45. Jnana (right knowledge) is one. 46. Darshan (right faith) is one. 47. Chaaritra (right conduct) is one. 48. Samaya (ultimate unit of time)
is one. 49. Pradesh (space-point) is one. 50. Paramanu (ultimate particle) 卐 is one. 51. Siddhi (state of perfection) is one. 52. Siddha. (liberated soul)
is one. 53. Parinirvana (liberation) is one. 54. Parinirvritta (liberated) 41 is one.
विवेचन-वस्तु के स्वरूप को सम्यक् रूप में जानना ज्ञान, उस पर श्रद्धान करना दर्शन और यथार्थ आचरण करना चारित्र है। इन तीनों की एकता ही मोक्षमार्ग है, अतः इनको एक-एक ही कहा गया है।
काल के सबसे छोटे अविभाज्य अंश को समय, आकाश के सबसे छोटे अंश को प्रदेश और पुद्गल ॐ के अविभागी अंश को परमाणु कहते हैं। अतएव ये भी स्वरूप की दृष्टि से एक-एक ही हैं।
