(4) Samuchchhinnakriya-apratipati—When even the subtle activity (breathing) also ceases it is called Samuchchhinnakriya. Once this level is reached there is no scope of a fall (apratipati).

७०. सुक्कस्स णं झाणस्स चत्तारि लक्खणा पण्णत्ता, तं जहा-अब्बहे, असम्मोहे, विवेगे, विउस्सग्गे।
७१. सुक्कस्स णं झाणस्स चत्तारि आलंबणा पण्णत्ता, तं जहा-खंती, मुत्ती, अज्जवे, मद्दवे।
७२. सुक्कस्स णं झाणस्स चत्तारि अणुप्पेहाओ पण्णत्ताओ, तं जहा-अणंतवित्तयाणुप्पेहा, विप्परिणामाणुप्पेहा, असुभाणुप्पेहा, अवायाणुप्पेहा।
७०. शुक्लध्यान के चार लक्षण हैं-(१) अव्यथ-व्यथा से परिषह या उपसर्गादि से पीड़ित होने पर पक्षोभित नहीं होना। (२) असम्मोह-देवादिकृत माया से मोहित नहीं होना। (३) विवेक-सभी संयोगों को ॐ आत्मा से भिन्न मानना। (४) व्युत्सर्ग-शरीर और उपधि से ममत्व का त्याग कर पूर्ण निःसंग होना।
७१. शुक्लध्यान के चार आलम्बन हैं-(१) क्षान्ति (क्षमा), (२) मुक्ति (निर्लोभता), (३) आर्जव 卐 (सरलता), और (४) मार्दव (मृदुता)।
७२. शुक्लध्यान की चार अनुप्रेक्षाएँ हैं-(१) अनन्तवृत्तितानुप्रेक्षा-संसार में परिभ्रमण की अनन्तता 卐 का विचार करना। (२) विपरिणामानुप्रेक्षा-वस्तुओं के विविध परिणमनों का विचार करना।
(३) अशुभानुप्रेक्षा-संसार, देह और भोगों की अशुभता का विचार करना। (४) अपायानुप्रेक्षा-राग-द्वेष से होने वाले दोषों का विचार करना। (विस्तार के लिए हिन्दी टीका, पृ. ६८० से ६९० देखें)
