ज (३) अहो ! मैंने ऋद्धि, रस एवं साता गौरव से युक्त होकर, अप्राप्त भोगों की आकांक्षा कर और 卐 भोगों में गृद्ध होकर विशुद्ध (निरतिचार-उत्कृष्ट) चारित्र का पालन नहीं किया।
इन तीन कारणों से देव परितप्त होता है। __248. For three reasons a dev (god) repents
(1) Alas ! In spite of having strength, potency, purushakar (human form), kshem (favourable conditions), good weather conditions, presence of acharya and upadhyaya, and healthy body I failed to absorb enough shrut-jnana (knowledge of the scriptures).
(2) Alas ! Caught in the trap of desire for mundane achievements related to this life (status, honour etc.) I failed to follow Shraman Dharma (Jain religion) for an extended period.
(3) Alas ! Enamoured with opulence and pride of possessing means of comforts and pleasure I hankered for unknown pleasures, got infatuated with available pleasures and failed to observe pure conduct without transgressions. ___For these three reasons a dev (god) repents.
२४९. तिहिं ठाणेहिं देवे चइस्सामित्ति जाणइ, तं जहा-विमाणाभरणाई णिप्पभाई पासित्ता, कप्परुक्खगं मिलायमाणं पासित्ता, अप्पणो तेयलेस्स परिहायमाणिं जाणित्ता-इच्चेएहिं तिहिं ठाणेहिं ॐ देवे चइस्सामित्ति जाणइ।
२४९. तीन कारणों से देव यह जान लेता है कि मैं च्युत होऊँगा-(आयुष्य पूर्ण कर अन्यत्र जाऊँगा)
(१) विमान और आभूषणों को निष्प्रभ (कान्तिहीन) देखकर। (२) कल्पवृक्ष को मुाया हुआ देखकर। (३) अपनी तेजोलेश्या (शरीर कान्ति) को क्षीण होती देखकर।
इन तीन कारणों से देव यह जान लेता है कि मैं च्युत होऊँगा।
249. For these three reasons a dev (god) knows that he is going to descend (chyut; reincarnate after concluding his life span)
(1) by seeing the faded glitter of his vimaan (celestial vehicle) and ornaments. (2) by seeing wilted kalpavriksha (wish fulfilling tree). (3) by seeing his fading tejoleshya (fire power and aura).
For these three reasons a dev (god) knows that he is going to descend for reincarnation. ॐ २५०. तिहिं ठाणेहिं देवे उज्वेगमागच्छेज्जा, तं जहा
(१) अहो ! णं मए इमाओ एतारूवाओ दिवाओ देविडीओ दिव्बाओ देवजुतीओ दिवाओ म देवाणुभावाओ लद्धाओ पत्ताओ अभिसमण्णागताओ चइयव्वं भविस्सति।
