Karma is of two kinds-pradesh karma (karmas that cause subtle or partial sufferance; in other words karmas that are shed after fruition without causing sufferance) and anubhaava karma (karmas that cause sufferance of pleasure and pain). 266. Two kinds of beings live their yathayu (full life span)-divine beings and infernal beings. 267. (THE GEOGRAPHICAL CONDITIONS OF JAMBU CONTINENT) २६८. जंबुद्दीवे दीवे मंदरस्स पव्वयस्स उत्तर-दाहिणे णं दो वासा पण्णत्ता-बहुसमतुल्ला 5 अविसेस-मणाणत्ता अण्णमणं णातिवटुंति आयाम-विक्खंभ-संठाण-परिणाहेणं, तं जहा-भरहे चेव, # एरवए चेव। २६९. एवमेएणमभिलावेणं-हेमवते चेव, हेरण्णवए चेव। हरिवासे चेव, रम्पयवासे चेव।।
२६८. जम्बूद्वीप द्वीप में मन्दर (सुमेरु) पर्वत के उत्तर और दक्षिण में दो क्षेत्र हैं-दक्षिण में भरत और उत्तर में ऐरवत। ये दोनों क्षेत्र-प्रमाण में सर्वथा सदृश हैं, नगर-नदी आदि की दृष्टि से उनमें कोई विशेष (भेद) नहीं है। कालचक्र के परिवर्तन की दृष्टि से उनमें कोई भिन्नता नहीं है। वे लम्बाई, चौड़ाई
(आकार) और परिधि की अपेक्षा एक-दूसरे का अतिक्रमण नहीं करते हैं, समान हैं। २६९. इसी 5 प्रकार हैमवत और हैरण्यवत तथा हरिवर्ष और रम्यक्वर्ष क्षेत्र भी परस्पर सर्वथा समान हैं।
268. In Jambu continent there are two areas (land masses) north and 6 south of the Mandar or Meru mountain-Bharat (in the south) and FF Airavat (in the north). These two land masses have the same area. There Fi is not much difference in terms of cities, rivers etc. In terms of time cycle
or weather cycle there is hardly any difference. In terms of length, breadth, circumference and other physical parameters they do not contradict each other and are same. 269. In the same way Haimavat and Hairanyavat continents are similar to each other as also Harivarsh and Ramyakvarsh.
२७०. जंबुद्दीवे दीवे मंदरस्स पव्वयस्स पुरथिम-पच्चत्थिमे णं दो खेत्ता पण्णत्ताबहुसमतुल्ला अविसेसमणाणत्ता अण्णमण्णं णातिवटुंति आयाम-विक्खंभ-संठाण-परिणाहणं, तं जहा-पुब्बविदेहे चेव, अवरविदेहे चेव।
२७०. जम्बूद्वीप द्वीप में मन्दर पर्वत के पूर्व और पश्चिम में दो क्षेत्र हैं-पूर्व विदेह और अपर (पश्चिम) विदेह। ये दोनों क्षेत्र प्रमाण की दृष्टि से सर्वथा सदृश हैं, नगर-नदी आदि की दृष्टि से उनमें कोई भिन्नता नहीं है, कालचक्र के परिवर्तन की दृष्टि से भी उनमें कोई भिन्नता नही है। इनकी लम्बाई, चौड़ाई, आकार और परिधि भी एक-दूसरे के समान है।
