म २. [प्र. २ ] से केणटेणं भंते ! एवं वुच्चइ-असोच्चा णं जाव नो लभेज्जा सवणयाए ? ॐ [उ. ] गोयमा ! जस्स णं नाणावरणिज्जाणं कम्माणं खओवसमे कडे भवइ से णं असोच्चा केवलिस्स
वा जाव तप्पक्खियउवासियाए वा केवलिपण्णत्तं धम्मं लभेज्ज सवणयाए, जस्स णं नाणावरणिज्जाणं फकम्माणं खओवसमे नो कडे भवइ से णं असोच्चा केवलिस्स वा जाव तप्पक्खियउवासियाए वा
केवलिपण्णत्तं धम्मं नो लभेज्ज सवणयाए, से तेणद्वेणं गोयमा ! एवं बुच्चइ-तं चेव जाव नो लभेज्ज फसवणयाए।
२. [प्र. २ ] भगवन् ! ऐसा किस कारण से कहा जाता है कि केवली यावत् केवलि-पाक्षिक की ॐउपासिका (इन दस) से सुने बिना ही किसी जीव को केवलि-प्ररूपित धर्मश्रवण का लाभ होता है और जकिसी को नहीं भी होता? 卐 3 [उ.] गौतम ! जिस जीव ने ज्ञानावरणीय कर्म का क्षयोपशम किया हुआ है, उसको केवली यावत्
केवलि-पाक्षिक की उपासिका (इन) में से किसी से सुने बिना ही केवलि-प्ररूपित धर्मश्रवण का लाभ (धर्मबोध की प्राप्ति) होता है और जिस जीव ने ज्ञानावरणीय कर्म का क्षयोपशम नहीं किया हुआ है,
उसे केवली यावत् केवलि-पाक्षिक की उपासिका से सुने बिना केवलि-प्ररूपित धर्मश्रवण का लाभ नहीं फ़ होता। हे गौतम ! इसी कारण ऐसा कहा गया कि यावत् किसी को धर्मश्रवण का लाभ होता है और किसी को नहीं होता। (स्वाभाविक धर्मानुराग तथा धर्मश्रवण निमित्त कारण है, ज्ञानावरणीय कर्म का क्षयोपशम अन्तरंग कारण है)।
2. [Q.2] Bhante ! Why is it said that some jiva (living being) derives and some does not derive the benefits of hearing the sermon of an omniscient (Kevali) even without hearing it from (these ten) the omniscient ... and so on up to... or his (self-enlightened omniscient's) female devotee (upaasika) ?
[Ans.] Gautam ! A jiva who has accomplished destruction-cumpacification of Jnanavaraniya karma (knowledge obscuring karma) derives the benefits of hearing the sermon of an omniscient (Kevali) even
without hearing it from (these ten) the omniscient ... and so on up to... or shis (self-enlightened omniscient's) female devotee (upaasika). And a jiva
who has not accomplished destruction-cum-pacification of 41 Jnanavaraniya karma (knowledge obscuring karma) does not derive the
i benefits of hearing the sermon of an omniscient (Kevali) without hearing Sit from (these ten) the omniscient ... and so on up to... or his (self
enlightened omniscient's) female devotee (upaasika). That is why it is said that some jiva (living being) derives and some does not derive the benefits of hearing the sermon. (Liking for and listening to the sermon is
the instrumental cause whereas destruction-cum-pacification of 4 Jnanavaraniya karma is the actual cause.)
