[Ans.] Gautam ! The bondage of the whole (sarva-bandh) lasts for a minimum of one Samaya and a maximum of two Samayas. The bondage of a part (desh-bandh) lasts for a minimum of one Samaya and a maximum of one Antarmuhurt.

६८. [ प्र. १ ] रयणप्पभापुढविनेरइय० पुच्छा।
[ उ. ] गोयमा ! सव्वबंधे एक्कं समयं; देसबंधे जहन्त्रेणं दसवाससहस्साइं तिसमयऊ णाई, उक्कोसेणं सागरोवमं समऊ णं ।
[ २ ] एवं जाव अहेसत्तमा । नवरं देसबंधे जस्स जा जहन्निया ठिती सा तिसमयूणा कायव्वा, जा च उक्कोसिया सा समयूणा ।
६८. [ प्र. १ ] भगवन् ! रत्नप्रभापृथ्वी नैरयिक- वैक्रियशरीर - प्रयोगबन्ध कितने काल तक रहता है ?
[ उ. ] गौतम ! इसका सर्वबन्ध एक समय तक रहता है और देशबन्ध जघन्यतः तीन समय कम दस हजार वर्ष तक तथा उत्कृष्टतः एक समय कम एक सागरोपम तक रहता है।
[ २ ] इसी प्रकार यावत् अधः सप्तम नरकपृथ्वी तक जानना चाहिए, किन्तु इतना विशेष है कि जिसकी जितनी जघन्य (आयु) स्थिति हो, उसमें तीन समय कम जघन्य देशबन्ध तथा जिसकी उत्कृष्ट (आयु) स्थिति हो, उसमें एक समय कम उत्कृष्ट देशबन्ध जानना चाहिए।
