(parikha), parapet wall (prakar), bastion on a rampart (attalak), charika (an eight cubit wide pathway between moat and rampart), door (dvar), gopur (main gate of entrance into a town), torana (ornamental entrance), palace (prasad), house (ghar), saran (thatched hut), layan (a dugout or cave on a hill), apan (shop or marketplace), shringatak (a triangular marketplace), trik (meeting point of three roads), chatushk (meeting point of four roads), chatvar (a square, court, circus, or plaza), 4 chaturmukh (a temple with gates on all four sides), and highway (mahapath) are constructed with the help of lime, mortar, clay or plaster.fi This bondage lasts for a minimum of Antarmuhurt (less than 48 minutes) and a maximum of countable period of time. This concludes the description of Samuchchaya-bandh (organized accumulative bondage).
१८.[प्र.] से किं तं साहणणाबंधे ? [उ. ] साहणणाबंधे दुविहे पन्नत्ते, तं जहा-देससाहणणाबंधे य सव्वसाहणणाबंधे य। १८. [प्र. ] भगवन् ! संहननबन्ध किसे कहते हैं ?
[उ. ] गौतम ! संहननबन्ध (विभिन्न पदार्थों के मिलने से एक आकार का पदार्थ बन जाना) दो • प्रकार का कहा गया है-(१) देश-संहननबन्ध, और (२) सर्व-संहननबन्ध।
18. [Q.] Bhante ! What is this Samhanan-bandh (integrative bondage)?
[Ans.] Gautam ! Samhanan-bandh (integrative bondage) is of two types-(1) Desh samhanan-bandh (partial integrative bondage) and (2) Sarva samhanan-bandh (complete integrative bondage).
१९. [प्र. ] से किं तं देससाहणणाबंधे ?
[उ. ] देससाहणणाबंधे, ज णं सगड-रह-जाण-जुग्ग-गिल्लि-थिल्लि-सीय-संदमाणिया-लोही卐 लोहक-डाह-कडच्छुअ-आसण-सयण-खंभ-भंड-मत्त-उवगरणमाईणं देससाहणणाबंधे समुप्पज्जइ, जहन्नेणं अंतोमुहत्तं, उक्कोसेणं संखेज्जं कालं। से तं देससाहणणाबंधे।
१९. [प्र. ] भगवन् ! देश-संहननबन्ध (किसी वस्तु के एक अंश के साथ किसी अन्य वस्तु के अंश रूप से सम्बन्ध होने पर जुड़ जाना) किसे कहते हैं ?
[उ. ] गौतम ! शकट (गाड़ी), रथ, यान (छोटी गाड़ी), युग्यवाहन (दो हाथ प्रमाण वेदिका से उपशोभित जम्पान = पालखी), गिल्लि (हाथी की अम्बाड़ी), थिल्लि (पलाण), शिविका (पालखी), स्यन्दमानी (पुरुष प्रमाण वाहन विशेष म्याना), लोढ़ी, लोहे की कड़ाही, कुड़छी (चमचा बड़ा या छोटा). आसन, शयन, स्तम्भ, भाण्ड (मिट्टी के बर्तन), पात्र, नाना उपकरण आदि पदार्थों के साथ जो
सम्बन्ध सम्पन्न होता है, वह देश-संहननबन्ध है। वह जघन्यतः अन्तर्मुहूर्त तक और उत्कृष्टतः संख्येय ॐ काल तक रहता है। यह है देश-संहननबन्ध का स्वरूप।
