४१. [प्र. ] भगवन् ! जम्बूद्वीप में दो सूर्य, क्या अतीत क्षेत्र को उद्योतित करते हैं ? इत्यादि प्रश्न पूर्ववत् करना चाहिए।
[उ. ] गौतम ! इस विषय में पूर्वोक्त प्रकार से जानना चाहिए; यावत् नियमतः छह दिशाओं को उद्योतित करते हैं।
41. (Q.) Bhante ! Do the two suns in Jambudveep tend to brighten (ujjoventi or udyotit) the region that existed in the past ? (And other aforesaid questions.)
(Ans.) Gautam ! The answers are same as aforesaid ... and so on up to ... as a rule they enlighten all the six directions.
४२. एवं तवेंति, एवं भासंति जाव नियमा छद्दिसिं। ४२. इसी प्रकार तपाते हैं; यावत् छह दिशा को नियमतः प्रकाशित करते हैं।
42. In the same way they tend to warm ... and so on up to ... as a rule they enlighten all the six directions.
४३. [प्र. ] जंबुद्दीवे णं भंते ! दीवे सूरियाणं किं तीए खेत्ते किरिया कज्जइ, पडुप्पन्ने खित्ते किरिया कज्जइ, अणागए खेत्ते किरिया कज्जइ ?
[उ. ] गोयमा ! नो तीए खेत्ते किरिया कज्जइ, पडुप्पन्ने खेत्ते किरिया कज्जइ, णो अणागए खेत्ते किरिया कज्जइ।
४३. [प्र. ] भगवन् ! जम्बूद्वीप में सूर्यों की क्रिया क्या अतीत क्षेत्र में की जाती है ? वर्तमान क्षेत्र % में की जाती है अथवा अनागत क्षेत्र में की जाती है?
[उ. ] गौतम ! अतीत क्षेत्र में क्रिया नहीं की जाती, और न अनागत क्षेत्र में क्रिया की जाती है, में किन्तु वर्तमान क्षेत्र में क्रिया की जाती है।
43. [Q.] Bhante ! Are the (aforesaid) activities of the suns in Jambudveep performed in the region that existed in the past, or in the
region that exists at present, or in the region that will exist in the i future? ! [Ans.) Gautam ! They are neither performed in the region that
existed in the past, nor in the region that will exist in the future but only in the region that exists at present.
४४. [प्र. ] सा भंते ! किं पुट्ठा कज्जति, अपुट्ठा कज्जइ ? [उ. ] गोयमा ! पुट्ठा कज्जइ, नो अपुट्ठा कज्जति जाव नियमा छद्दिसिं। ४४. [ प्र. ] भगवन् ! वे सूर्य स्पृष्ट क्रिया करते हैं या अस्पृष्ट ?
