का स्वाद लेते हो, अर्थात्-अदत्त (ग्रहणादि) की अनुमति देते हो। इस प्रकार अदत्त का ग्रहण करते हुए, अदत्त का भोजन करते हुए, और अदत्त की अनुमति देते हुए तुम त्रिविध-त्रिविध असंयत, अविरत यावत् एकान्तबाल हो। ____6. [Ans. In reply the heretics said to the senior ascetics-Noble ones ! : You accept things not given to you (adatt), you eat things not given to
you and taste things not given to you. In other words you allow accepting i i (etc.) of things not given to you. This way, as you accept what is not
given, eat what is not given and allow to take what is not given, you are devoid of restraint (asamyat), devoid of detachment (avirat), and devoid of control on as well as renunciation of sinful indulgence (apratihat and apratyakhyan) through three means (karan) and three methods ... and so on up to ... are complete ignorant (ekaant baal).
७. [प्र. ] तए णं ते थेरा भगवंतो ते अन्नउत्थिए एवं वयासी-केणं कारणेणं अज्जो ! अम्हे अदिन्नं गेण्हामो, अदिन्नं भुंजामो, अदिन्नं सातिजामो, जए णं अम्हे अदिन्नं गेण्हमाणा, जाव अदिन्नं सातिज्जमाणा तिविहं तिविहेणं अस्संजय जाव एगंतबाला यावि भवामो ? । ७. [प्र. ] तदनन्तर उन स्थविर भगवन्तों ने उन अन्यतीर्थिकों से इस प्रकार पूछा-'आर्यो ! हम किस-किस प्रकार से अदत्त का ग्रहण करते हैं, अदत्त का भोजन करते हैं और अदत्त की अनुमति देते ॥ हैं, जिससे कि हम अदत्त का ग्रहण करते हुए यावत् अदत्त की अनुमति देते हुए त्रिविध-त्रिविध : असंयत, अविरत यावत् एकान्तबाल हैं ?
7. [Q.] The senior ascetics asked the heretics-Noble ones ! How do you think we accept things not given to us (adatt), we eat things not given to us, taste things not given to us, and allow accepting things not 15 given to us ? [उ. ] तए णं ते अन्नउत्थिया ते थेरे भगवंते एवं वयासी-तुम्हाणं अज्जो ! दिज्जमाणे अदिने, पडिगहेज्जमाणे अपडिग्गहिए, निसिरिज्जमाणे अणिसट्टे, तुन्भे णं अज्जो ! दिज्जमाणं पडिग्गहगं असंपत्तं एत्थ णं अंतरा केइ अवहरिज्जा, गाहावइस्स णं तं, नो खलु तं तुभं, तए णं तुब्भे अदिन्नं गेण्हह जाव अदिन्नं सातिज्जह, तए णं तुभे अदिनं गेण्हमाणा जाव एगंतबाला यावि भवह।
८. [ उ. ] इस पर उन अन्यतीर्थिकों ने स्थविर भगवन्तों से इस प्रकार कहा-हे आर्यो ! तुम्हारे मत में दिया जाता हुआ पदार्थ, 'नहीं दिया गया', ग्रहण किया जाता हुआ, 'ग्रहण नहीं किया गया', तथा
