Elaboration-Reason for using the term nosamyat for gods--although dead or deceased are factually correct terms for a person who has died, in common polite usage the term 'left or departed for heavenly abode' is 'i used. In the same way nosamyat is the correct and polite term for asamyat. (Vritti leaf 211) देवों की भाषा : अर्ध-मागधी LANGUAGE OF GODS : ARDHAMAAGADHI
२४. [प्र. ] देवा णं भंते ! कयराए भासाए भासंति ? कतरा वा भासा भासिज्जमाणी विसिस्सति ? ।
[उ. ] गोयमा ! देवा णं अद्धमागहाए भासाए भासंति, सा वि य णं अद्धमागहा भासा भासिज्जमाणी विसिस्सति।
२४. [प्र. ] भगवन् ! देव कौन-सी भाषा बोलते हैं ? अथवा (देवों द्वारा) बोली जाती हुई कौनॐ सी भाषा विशिष्ट रूप होती है ?
[उ. ] गौतम ! देव अर्ध-मागधी भाषा बोलते हैं, और बोली जाती हुई वह अर्ध-मागधी भाषा ही + विशिष्ट रूप होती है।
24. [Q.] Bhante ! In what language do gods speak ? Or what is the special language spoken by them (gods)?
(Ans.] Gautam ! Gods speak in Ardhamaagadhi language ? Being spoken by them (gods) Ardhamaagadhi has acquired the status of special language.
विवेचन : अर्ध-मागधी का स्वरूप-वृत्तिकार के अनुसार जो भाषा मगध देश में बोली जाती है, उसे मागधी कहते हैं। जिस भाषा में मागधी और प्राकृत आदि भाषाओं का मिश्रण हो गया हो, उसे अर्ध- ॐ ॐ मागधी भाषा कहते हैं। जिस भाषा में आधी मागधी भाषा हो और आधी दूसरी भाषाएँ मिश्रित हुई हों, + वही अर्ध-मागधी भाषा है। अथवा प्राचीन आचार्यों की यह भी मान्यता है कि प्राकृत, संस्कृत, मागधी,
पैशाची शोरसौनी और देशी अपभ्रंश जिसमें इन छहों भाषाओं का मिश्रण हो वह अर्द्ध-मागधी है। वह म तीर्थंकरों की भाषा है, देवों की भी भाषा है तथा जन भाषा भी है। अतः संस्कृत से भी उसका महत्त्व
अधिक है। (वृत्ति पत्रांक २२१) ___Elaboration-Ardha-maagadhi language-According to commentator (Vritti) the language spoken in Magadh is called Maagadhi.
The language that has mixture of Maagadhi, Prakrit and other languages 45 is called Ardha-maagadhi. The language that has half (ardha) of
Maagadhi and half of other languages is Ardhamaagadhi. The belief of ancient scholars is that the language that has mixture of Prakrit,
