अग्निझूषित (अग्नि से तप्त हो जाने से पूर्व स्वभाव से रहित) अग्निसेवित और अग्निपरिणामित (अग्नि में जल जाने से नये आकार में परिवर्तित) हो जाते हैं, तब वे द्रव्य अग्नि के शरीर कहलाते हैं तथा सुरा (मदिरा) में जो तरल पदार्थ है, वह पूर्वभाव-प्रज्ञापना (भूतपूर्व शरीर) की अपेक्षा से अप्कायिक जीवों का शरीर है और जब वह तरल पदार्थ (पूर्वोक्त प्रकार से) शस्त्रातीत यावत् अग्निपरिणामित हो जाता है, तब वह भाग, अग्निकाय-शरीर कहा जा सकता है।
13. (Q.) Bhante ! To what category of living beings do the bodies of rice (odan), Kulmash (Udad; a pulse) and wine (Sura) belong?
[Ans.] Gautam ! The solid part of rice (odan), Kulmash (Udad; a pulse) and wine (Sura) are the bodies of plant-bodied beings in terms of their earlier or original state. After that when they are processed with implements (shastrateet), such as mortar and grinder; when they are
mechanically transformed (shastra-parinat); when they are roasted in fire (agnidhyamit); when they loose their properties due to fire (agnijhushit); when they are cooked in fire (agnisevit) and when they are transformed by fire (agniparinamit) they are called bodies of fire-bodied beings. The liquid part of wine are the bodies of water-bodied beings in terms of their earlier or original state and when that liquid part is transformed by implements and fire, it is called bodies of fire-bodied beings. लोह आदि के शरीर BODIES OF IRON ETC.
१४. [प्र. ] अह णं भंते ! अये, तंबे, तउए, सीसए, उवले, कसट्टिया, एए णं किंसरीरा इ वत्तव्बं सिया ?
[उ. ] गोयमा ! अए तंबे, तउए, सीसए, उवले, कसट्टिया, एए णं पुब्वभावपण्णवणं पुडुच्च पुढविजीवसरीरा, तओ पच्छा सत्थातीता जाव अगणिजीवसरीरा ति वत्तव्वं सिया।
१४. [प्र. ] भगवन् ! लोहा, ताँबा, त्रपुष् (कलई या रांगा), शीशा, उपल (जला हुआ पत्थरकोयला) और कसट्टिका (लोहे का काट-मैल); ये सब द्रव्य किन (जीवों के) शरीर कहलाते हैं ?
[उ. ] गौतम ! लोहा, ताँबा, कलई, शीशा, कोयला और लोहे का काट; ये सब द्रव्य-पूर्व अवस्था की अपेक्षा से पृथ्वीकायिक जीवों के शरीर कहे जा सकते हैं और उसके बाद शस्त्रातीत यावत् शस्त्र-परिणामित होने पर ये अग्निकायिक जीवों के शरीर कहे जा सकते हैं। ____14.
