[उ. ] गोयमा ! पंचविहा पण्णत्ता, तं जहा-वण्णपरिणया गंधपरिणया रसपरिणया फासपरिणया संठाणपरिणया। जे वण्णपरिणया ते पंचविहा पण्णत्ता, तं जहा-कालवण्णपरिणया जाव सुक्किल्लवण्णपरिणया। जे गंधपरिणया ते दुविहा पण्णत्ता, तं जहा-सुब्भिगंधपरिणया वि, दुब्भिगंधपरिणया वि। एवं जहा पण्णवणाए तहेव निरवसेसं जाव जे संठाणओ आयतसंठाणपरिणया ते वण्णओ कालवण्णपरिणया वि जाव लुक्खफासपरिणया वि।
४८. [प्र.] भगवन् ! विस्रसा-परिणत (स्वभाव से परिणाम को प्राप्त) पुद्गल कितने प्रकार के हैं? _ [उ. ] गौतम ! पाँच प्रकार के हैं। वे इस प्रकार हैं-(१) वर्णपरिणत, (२) गन्धपरिणत, (३) रसपरिणत, (४) स्पर्शपरिणत, और (५) संस्थानपरिणत। जो पुद्गल वर्ण-परिणत हैं, वे पाँच प्रकार के हैं। यथा-काले वर्ण के रूप में परिणत यावत् शुक्ल वर्ण के रूप में परिणत पुद्गल। जो गन्धपरिणत पुद्गल हैं, वे दो प्रकार के हैं। यथा-सुरभिगन्धपरिणत और दुरभिगन्धपरिणत पुद्गल। इस प्रकार आगे का सारा वर्णन प्रज्ञापनासूत्र के प्रथम पद के अनुसार यहाँ भी करना चाहिए; यावत् जो पुद्गल संस्थान से आयत-संस्थान-परिणत हैं, वे वर्ण से काले वर्ण के रूप में भी परिणत हैं, यावत् (स्पर्श से) रूक्ष-स्पर्शरूप में भी परिणत हैं।
48. [Q.] Bhante ! How many types of visrasa parinat pudgala (naturally transformed matter) are there?
[Ans.] Gautam ! They are of five types (1) varna parinat (transformed as attributes of colour), (2) gandh parinat (transformed as attributes of smell), (3) rasa parinat (transformed as attributes of taste), (4) sparsh parinat (transformed as attributes of touch), and (5) samsthan parinat (transformed as attributes of constitution). The varna parinat pudgala are of five types—transformed as black colour... and so on up to... transformed as white colour. The gandh parinat pudgala are of two types—good smell and bad smell. In the same way all the following matter is to be repeated here as mentioned in the first chapter of Prajnapana Sutra... and so on up to... the matter that is transformed as rectangular constitution is also transformed as black colour... and so on up to... rough touch. एक द्रव्य के परिणमन की प्ररूपणा TRANSFORMATION OF ONE SUBSTANCE

४९. [प्र.] भगवन् ! एक द्रव्य क्या प्रयोग-परिणत होता है, मिश्रपरिणत होता है अथवा विस्रसा-परिणत होता है ?
