४. एवं पच्चत्थिमेणं, दाहिणेणं, उत्तरेणं, उत्तर-पुरथिमेणं, पुरथिम-दाहिणेणं, दाहिणA पच्चत्थिमेणं, पच्छिम-उत्तरेणं।
४. इसी तरह पश्चिम में, दक्षिण में, उत्तर में, ईशानकोण में, आग्नेयकोण में, नैऋत्यकोण में और । वायव्यकोण में (पूर्वोक्त सब वायु बहती हैं।) fi 4. In the same way they (all the aforesaid winds) also blow in the
west, south, north, north-east (Ishan Kone), south-east (Agneya Kone), south-west (Nairitya Kone) and south-east (Vayavya Kone).
५. [प्र. ] जया णं भंते ! पुरित्थमेणं ईसिं पुरेवाया पच्छावाया मंदावाया महावाया वायंति तया णं पच्चत्थिमेण वि ईसिं पुरेवाया० ? जया णं पच्चत्थिमेणं ईसिंपुरेवाया० तया णं पुरथिमेण वि ? __ [उ. ] हंता, गोयमा ! जया णं पुरथिमेणं तदा णं पच्चत्थिमेण वि ईसिं, जया णं पच्चत्थिमेणं तदा णं पुरथिमेण वि ईसिं। एवं दिसासु, विदिसासु।
५. [प्र. ] भगवन् ! जब पूर्व में ईषत्पुरोवात, पथ्यवात, मन्दवात और महावात बहती हैं, तब क्या पश्चिम में भी ईषत्पुरोवात आदि हवाएँ बहती हैं ? और जब पश्चिम में ईषत्पुरोवात आदि वायु बहती हैं, तब क्या पूर्व में भी (वे हवाएँ) बहती हैं ? म [उ. ] हाँ, गौतम ! जब पूर्व में ईषत्पुरोवात आदि हवाएँ बहती हैं, तब वे सब पश्चिम में भी बहती हैं और जब पश्चिम में ईषत्पुरोवात आदि बहती हैं, तब वे सब हवाएँ पूर्व में भी बहती हैं। इसी प्रकार सब दिशाओं, विदिशाओं में भी उपर्युक्त कथन करना चाहिए।
5. [Q.] Bhante ! When the Ishatpurovaat (moist breeze), Pathyavaat (wind healthy for vegetation), Mandavaat (zephyr or soft and gentle A breeze) and Mahavaat (stormy wind; gale or tempest) blow in the east, F do they also blow in the west ? And when they blow in the west do they also blow in the east?
(Ans.) Yes, Gautam ! When the aforesaid winds blow in the east, they also blow in the west; and when they blow in the west they also blow in the east. In the same way this statement should be repeated for all cardinal and intermediate directions.
६.[प्र. ] अत्थि णं भंते ! दीविच्चया ईसिं? [उ. ] हंता, अत्थि। ७. [प्र. ] अस्थि णं भंते ! सामुद्दया ईसिं पुरेवाया ? [उ. ] हंता, अत्थि। ६. [प्र. ] भगवन् ! क्या द्वीप में भी ईषत्पुरोवात आदि हवाएँ होती हैं ?
