[Ans.] Gautam ! In the world of Asur Kumar gods there is light and
not darkness.
[प्र. २] से केणट्ठेणं० ?
[उ. ] गोयमा ! असुरकुमाराणं सुभा पोग्गला, सुभे पोग्गलपरिणामे, से तेणट्टेणं एवं वुच्चति० । एवं जाव थणियाणं ।
[प्र. २ ] भगवन् ! यह किस कारण से कहा जाता है ?
[उ. ] गौतम ! असुरकुमारों के शुभ पुद्गल या शुभ पुद्गल परिणाम होते हैं; इस कारण से कहा जाता है कि उनके उद्योत होता है, अन्धकार नहीं होता। इसी प्रकार ( नागकुमार देवों से लेकर ) स्तनितकुमार देवों तक के लिए कहना चाहिए।
[Q. 2] Bhante ! Why so ?
[Ans.] Gautam ! In the (world of) Asur Kumar gods only auspicious or bright (shubh) particles exist and function. That is why there is only light (udyot) and not darkness there. The same should be repeated (for Naag Kumar gods and so on up to) up to Stanit Kumar gods.
६. पुढविकाइया जाव तेइंदिया जहा नेरइया ।
६. जिस प्रकार नैरयिक जीवों के (उद्योत - अन्धकार के) विषय में कथन किया, उसी प्रकार पृथ्वीकायिक जीवों से लेकर त्रीन्द्रिय जीवों तक के विषय में कहना चाहिए।
6. As has been stated with regard to infernal beings (about light and darkness) so should be repeated for earth-bodied beings... and so on up to... three-sensed beings.
७. [ प्र. १ ] चउरिंदियाणं भंते! किं उज्जोए, अंधकारे ?
[उ. ] गोयमा ! उज्जोए वि, अंधकारे वि।
७. [ प्र. १ ] भगवन् ! चतुरिन्द्रिय जीवों के क्या उद्योत है अथवा अन्धकार है ?
[उ.] गौतम ! चतुरिन्द्रिय जीवों के उद्योत भी है, अन्धकार भी है।
7. [Q. 1] Bhante! Is there light or darkness in the world of four-sensed beings?
[Ans.] Gautam ! In the world of four-sensed beings there is light as well as darkness.
[प्र. २] से केणट्टेणं० ?
[उ.] गोयमा ! चतुरिंदियाणं सुभाऽसुभा पोग्गला, सुभाऽसुभे पोग्गलपरिणामे, से तेणट्ठेनं० ।
