म जो पुद्गल द्रव्य से सप्रदेश होते हैं, वे क्षेत्र से कोई सप्रदेश और कोई अप्रदेश होते हैं; इसी प्रकार
काल से और भाव से भी वे सप्रदेश और अप्रदेश समझ लेने चाहिए। है जो पुद्गल क्षेत्र से सप्रदेश होते हैं; वे द्रव्य से नियमतः (निश्चित ही) सप्रदेश होते हैं, किन्तु काल
से तथा भाव से भजना से (विकल्प से-कदाचित् सप्रदेश, कदाचित् अप्रदेश) जानना चाहिए। जैसे ॐ (सप्रदेशी पुद्गल के सम्बन्ध में) द्रव्य से (द्रव्य की अपेक्षा से) कहा, वैसे ही काल से (कालादेश से)
और भाव (भावादेश) से भी कथन करना चाहिए।
7. [Answer] Then ascetic Nirgranthiputra explained to ascetic Narad4 putra as follows——“Noble one ! In my view, in context of substance
(dravyadesh), pudgalas are with sections (sa-pradesh) as well as without 卐 sections (a-pradesh) and pudgalas are infinite. The same is true in 卐 context of area, in context of time and also in context of state.
Pudgalas that are without sections in context of substance are as a rule also without sections in context of area. In context of time they are with sections sometimes and without sections sometimes. In context of state also they are with sections sometimes and without sections sometimes.
Pudgalas that are without sections in context of area are sometimes with sections and sometimes without sections in context of substance. 4 Same pattern follows in context of time as well as in context of state. As has been said about pudgalas in context of area should be repeated for pudgalas in context of time and state.
Pudgalas that are with sections in context of substance are sometimes with sections and sometimes without sections in context of area. Same pattern follows in context of time as well as in context of state.
Pudgalas that are with sections in context of area are as a rule also without sections in context of substance. However, in context of time as well as state they are with sections sometimes and without sections sometimes. As has been said about pudgalas in context of substance should be repeated for pudgalas in context of time and state.
८. [प्र. ] एएसि णं भंते ! पोग्गलाणं दव्वादेसेणं खेत्तादेसेणं कालादेसेणं भावादेसेणं सपदेसाण य + अपदेसाण य कयरे कयरेहिंतो जाव विसेसाहिया वा ?
[उ. ] नारयपुत्ता ! सव्वत्थोवा पोग्गला भावादेसेणं अपदेसा, कालादेसेणं अपदेसा असंखेज्जगुणा, दव्वादेसेणं अपदेसा असंखेज्जगुणा, खेत्तादेसेणं अपदेसा असंखेज्जगुणा; खेत्तादेसेणं चेव सपदेसा असंखेज्जगुणा, दव्वादेसेणं सपदेसा विसेसाहिया, कालादेसेणं सपदेसा विसेसाहिया, भावादेसेणं सपदेसा विसेसाहिया।
