१६. [प्र. ] एगगुणकालए णं भंते! पोग्गले कालओ केवच्चिरं होइ ?
[उ. ] गोयमा ! जहन्त्रेणं एगं समयं, उक्कोसेणं असंखेज्जं कालं । एवं जाव अनंतगुणकालए।
१६. [ प्र. ] भगवन् ! एक गुण काला पुद्गल काल की अपेक्षा से कब तक (एक गुण काला) रहता है ? [ उ. ] गौतम ! जघन्यतः एक समय तक और उत्कृष्टतः असंख्येय काल तक रहता है। इसी प्रकार 5 (द्विगुण काले पुद्गल से लेकर) यावत् अनन्तगुण काले पुद्गल का कथन करना चाहिए।
१७. एवं वण्ण-गंध-रस - फासं० जाव अनंतगुणलुक्खे ।
१७. इसी प्रकार (एक गुण ) वर्ण, गन्ध, रस और स्पर्श वाले पुद्गल के विषय में यावत् अनन्तगुण रूक्ष पुद्गल तक पूर्वोक्त प्रकार से काल की अपेक्षा से कथन करना चाहिए।

16. [Q.] Bhante ! In terms of time how long does a paramanu-pudgal 5 (ultimate particle of matter) with one unit of black colour exist (as black) ? 5 [Ans.] Gautam ! It exists (in the same form) for a minimum of one Samaya and a maximum of immeasurable period. The same should be repeated for (with two units of black colour )... and so on up to ... with f innumerable units of black colour.
17. The same should be repeated for paramanu-pudgals with single units of (different ) colour, smell, taste and touch... and so on up to ... paramanu-pudgals with infinite units of coarse ( ruksha) touch.
१८. एवं सुहमपरिणए पोग्गले ।
१८. इसी प्रकार सूक्ष्म - परिणत (सूक्ष्म - परिणामी ) पुद्गल के सम्बन्ध में कहना चाहिए। 18. The same should be repeated for minute (sukshma) matter. १९. एवं बादरपरिणए पोग्गले ।

१९. इसी प्रकार बादर - परिणत स्थूल - परिणाम वाले पुद्गल के सम्बन्ध में कहना चाहिए। 19. The same should be repeated for gross (baadar) matter.
