[Ans.] Gautam ! A paramanu-pudgal ( ultimate particle of matter) exists (in the same form) for a minimum of one Samaya and a maximum of immeasurable period.
[2] The same should be repeated for aggregates of two to infinite pradeshas.
१५. [ प्र. १ ] एगपदेसोगाढे णं भंते! पोग्गले सेए तम्मि वा ठाणे अन्नम्मि वा ठाणे कालओ केवच्चिरं होइ ?
[ उ. गोयमा ! जहन्त्रेणं एगं समयं उक्कोसेणं आवलियाए असंखेज्जइभागं । एवं जाव असंखेज्जपदेसोगाढे।
[प्र. २ ] एगपदेसोगाढे णं भंते ! पोग्गले निरेए कालओ केवच्चिरं होइ ?
[उ. ] गोयमा ! जहन्त्रेणं एगं समयं, उक्कोसेणं असंखेज्जं कालं । एवं जाव असंखेज्जपदेसोगाढे।
१५. [ प्र. १ ] भगवन् ! एक आकाश-प्रदेशावगाढ़ (एक आकाशप्रदेश पर स्थित ) पुद्गल उस स्थान में या अन्य स्थान में काल की अपेक्षा से कब तक सकम्प (स-एज) रहता है ?
[ उ. ] गौतम ! जघन्य एक समय तक और उत्कृष्ट आवलिका के असंख्येय भाग तक सकम्प रहता है। इसी तरह (द्विप्रदेशावगाढ़ से लेकर) यावत् असंख्येय प्रदेशावगाढ़ तक कहना चाहिए ।
[प्र. २ ] भगवन् ! एक आकाशप्रदेश में अवगाढ़ पुद्गल काल की अपेक्षा से कब तक निष्कम्प (निरेज) रहता है ?
[उ. ] गौतम ! जघन्य एक समय तक और उत्कृष्ट असंख्येय काल तक निष्कम्प रहता है । इसी प्रकार (द्विप्रदेशावगाढ़ से लेकर) असंख्येय प्रदेशावगाढ़ तक (के विषय में कहना चाहिए ।)
15. [Q. 1] Bhante ! How long does a paramanu-pudgal ( ultimate particle of matter) occupying one space-point remain in the state of vibration (sa-eja) at that point or another ?
[Ans.] Gautam ! ( It remains in the state of vibration) For a minimum of one Samaya (the ultimate fractional unit of time that cannot be divided any further) and a maximum of innumerable fraction of an Avalika (innumerable Samayas). (The same is true for)... and so on up to... aggregates of infinite pradeshas.
[Q. 2] Bhante ! How long does a paramanu-pudgal ( ultimate particle of matter) occupying one space-point remain in the state of stillness (nirej or non-vibration) at that point or another ?
[Ans.] Gautam ! (It remains in the state of stillness) For a minimum of one Samaya (the ultimate fractional unit of time) and a maximum of
