17. In the same way the second statement (aphorism-16) should be repeated with the change that by acquiring outside matter particles, a sagacious ascetic (bhaavitatma cnagar) is capable of transmuting (vikurvana) into various forms.
विवेचन : इन सूत्रों का सार यह है कि वैक्रिय-(बाह्य) पुद्गलों के ग्रहण किये बिना वैक्रियशरीर की रचना फ़ हो नहीं सकती, और वैक्रियशरीर के बिना पर्वत को लाँघना तथा विविध रूपों की विकुर्वणा कर नहीं सकता।
Elaboration—The gist of these aphorisms is that without acquiring outside matter particles a trarsmuted body cannot be created and without a transmuted body neither a mountain can be crossed flying over nor various forms can be created. प्रमादी मनुष्य विकुर्वणा करते हैं TRANSFORMATION BY MALIGNED PERSON
१८. [प्र. १ ] से भंते ! किं मायी विकुव्वति, अमायी विकुब्बइ ? [उ. ] गोयमा ! मायी विकुब्बइ, नो अमायी विकुव्वति।
१८. [प्र. १ ] भगवन् ! क्या मायी (प्रमाद या कषाययुक्त) मनुष्य विकुर्वणा करता है, अथवा अमायी (अप्रमत्त-कषायहीन) मनुष्य विकुर्वणा करता है? ___ [उ. ] गौतम ! मायी मनुष्य विकुर्वणा करता है, अमायी मनुष्य विकुर्वणा नहीं करता।
18. [Q. 1] Bhante ! Does a maligned (maayi; this includes spiritually torpid and passion-infested) person do transformation ? Or does a nonmaligned (amaayi; this includes spiritually alert and passion-free) person do transformation ? ___[Ans.] Gautam ! A maligned person does transformation, a nonmaligned person does not do transformation.
[प्र. २ ] से केणठेणं भंते ! एवं वुच्चइ जाव नो अमायी विकुब्बइ ? । __ [उ. ] गोयमा ! मायी णं पणीयं पाण-भोयणं भोच्चा भोच्चा वामेति, तस्स णं तेणं पणीएणं पाणभोयणेणं अट्ठि-अद्विमिंजा बहली भवंति, पयणुए मंस-सोणिए भवति, जे वि य से अहाबादरा पोग्गला ते
वि य से परिणमंति, तं जहा-सोइंदियत्ताए जाव फासिंदियत्ताए, अट्ठि-अद्विमिंज-केस-मंसु-रोमॐ नहत्ताए सुक्कत्ताए सोणियत्ताए।
