६. [प्र.] भगवन् ! असुरकुमार देवों का (अपने स्थान से) अधोगमन-विषयक सामर्थ्य कितना (कहाँ तक) है?
[उ. ] गौतम ! सप्तम पृथ्वी तक नीचे जाने की शक्ति उनमें है। (किन्तु वे वहाँ तक कभी गये नहीं, जाते नहीं और जायेंगे भी नहीं) वे तीसरी पृथ्वी (बालुकाप्रभा) तक गये हैं, जाते हैं और जायेंगे।
6. [Q.] Bhante ! How far below (their abodes) they are capable of going ?
[Ans.] They are capable of going up to the seventh hell; (but they have never gone that far, neither they go that far and nor will they ever i go that far); they have gone, go and will go only as far as the third fi prithvi (Balukaprabha).
७. [प्र. ] किंपत्तियं णं भंते ! असुरकुमारा देवा तच्चं पुढविं गता य, गमिस्संति य ?
[उ. ] गोयमा ! पुब्बवेरियस्स वा वेदणउदीरणयाए, पुव्वसंगतियस्स वा वेदणउवसामणयाए। एवं खलु असुरकुमारा देवा तच्चं पुढविं गता य, गमिस्संति य।
७. [प्र. ] भगवन् ! किस प्रयोजन (या कारण) से असुरकुमार देव तीसरी पृथ्वी तक गये हैं, (जाते हैं) और भविष्य में जायेंगे?
[उ. ] हे गौतम ! अपने पूर्व शत्रु को (पूर्व वैर के कारण)-दुःख देने अथवा अपने पूर्व साथी (मित्रजन के स्नेहवश) की वेदना का उपशमन करके (दुःख-निवारण) के लिए असुरकुमार देव तृतीय पृथ्वी तक गये हैं, (जाते हैं) और जायेंगे।
7.[Q.] Bhante ! For what reason Asur Kumar Devs have gone, go and ___will go up to the third prithvi (hell)?
[Ans.] Gautam ! Asur Kumar Devs have gone, go and will go up to the third prithvi (hell) in order to torment their former foes (out of past animosity) or to pacify the pain (remove suffering) of their former friends (out of love).
८. [प्र. ] अस्थि णं भंते ! असुरकुमाराणां देवाणं तिरियं गतिविसए पण्णत्ते ? _[उ. ] हंता, अत्थि।
८. [प्र. ] भगवन् ! क्या असुरकुमार देवों में तिर्यक् (तिरछे) गमन करने का (सामर्थ्य) है। [उ. ] हाँ, गौतम ! है।
8. [Q.] Bhante ! Do Asur Kumar Devs have the capacity to go in transverse (tiryak) direction ?
[Ans.] Yes, Gautam ! They have (the capacity to go in transverse direction).
