qedit PRITHVI (HELL) नरकावास संख्या NUMBER OF INFERNALABODES
१.[प्र. ] कति णं भंते ! पुढवीओ पण्णत्ताओ? [उ. ] गोयमा ! सत्त पुढवीओ पण्णत्ताओ। तं जहा-रयणप्पभा जाव तमतमा। १.[प्र. ] भगवन् ! (अधोलोक में) कितनी पृथ्वियाँ हैं ? [उ. ] गौतम ! सात पृथ्वियाँ हैं। वे यथा-रत्नप्रभा से लेकर यावत् तमस्तमःप्रभा तक।
1. [Q.] Bhante ! How many hells (prithvis) are there (in the lower world)?
(Ans.] Gautam ! There are seven hells-Ratna-prabha... and so on up to... Tamastamah-prabha.
२. [प्र. ] इमी से णं भंते ! रयणप्पभाए पुढवीए कति निरयावाससयसहस्सा पण्णत्ता ? [उ. ] गोयमा ! तीसं निरयावाससयसहस्सा पण्णत्ता। गाहा-तीसा य पण्णवीसा पण्णरस दसेव या सयसहस्सा।
तिण्णेगं पंचूणं पंचेव अणुत्तरा निरया॥१॥ २. [प्र. ] भगवन् ! इस रत्नप्रभा पृथ्वी में कितने लाख नारकावास (नैरयिकों के रहने के स्थान) हैं ? [ उ. ] गौतम ! रत्नप्रभा पृथ्वी में तीस लाख नारकावास हैं।
(गाथा) वे इस प्रकार हैं-प्रथम पृथ्वी (नरकभूमि) में तीस लाख, दूसरी में पच्चीस लाख, तीसरी में 5 पन्द्रह लाख, चौथी में दस लाख, पाँचवीं में तीन लाख, छठी में ५ कम एक लाख और सातवीं में केवल पाँच नारकावास हैं।
2. (Q.) Bhante ! How many hundred thousand infernal abodes (narakvaas) are there in this Ratnaprabha prithvi ?
(Ans.] Gautam ! There are thirty hundred thousand infernal abodes (narak-vaas) in Ratnaprabha prithvi.
The verse-In the first hell thirty hundred thousand, in the second twenty five hundred thousand, in the third fifteen hundred thousand, in the fourth ten hundred thousand, in the fifth three hundred thousand, in the sixth five short of one hundred thousand and in the seventh just five infernal abodes are there.
