फिर उसने कानों को मधुर लगनेवाली यह बात कही कि सैकड़ों जन्मों के मलभार को दूर करनेवाले कुलश्रेष्ठ तुम्हारे पिता के पितामह सहस्रबल नाम से प्रसिद्ध थे। वे परम गुणी मुनि बनकर तथा केवलज्ञान प्राप्त कर मोक्ष को प्राप्त हुए। तुम्हारे पिता के पिता नृपश्रेष्ठ शतबल श्रावकव्रत-समूह धारणकर माहेन्द्र स्वर्ग में देव हुए। उनकी आयु सात सागरप्रमाण है। उस समय हम लोग सुमेरु पर्वत पर गये। वहाँ उन्होंने मेरे
साथ तुमसे कहा— भयभीत तुम्हारा जितेन्द्रिय पिता मुनि होकर बनवास के लिए चला गया। हे देव, इस प्रकार न्याय और विनय के घर नवयौवन से युक्त, अपने-अपने पुत्रों को लक्ष्मी सौंपकर तुम्हारे पितामह पिता प्रभृति लोग मोक्ष को सिद्ध करनेवाले सुने जाते हैं। (लेकिन तुम्हारे पिता) रौद्र आर्त्तध्यान से आरूढ़ आभा के कारण नरक और तिर्यचगति को प्राप्त हुए।
घत्ता कर्मों को आहत करनेवाले जिनवर के धर्म से रंक भी ऊपर ऊपर जाता है। हे नृप, जबकि गर्व करनेवाले पाप से राजा नरक में (अधोमुख) गिरता है ॥ १ ॥
