शान्ति को स्वीकार करता है? विश्व में किसके यश का डंका बजता है? तुम्हें छोड़कर त्रिभुवन में कौन भला होगा। इस समय राज्य करते हुए मैं लजाता हूँ। अब मैं परम दीक्षा ग्रहण करूँगा। इस समय इन्द्रियों के प्रपंच है? दूसरा कौन प्रत्यक्ष कामदेव है? दूसरा कौन जिनपदों की सेवा करनेवाला है और दूसरा कौन नृपशासन को छोडूंगा। मैं इस समय पुण्य या पाप का आदर नहीं करूँगा। इस समय कर्मों के निबन्धन को नष्ट करूँगा। की रक्षा करनेवाला है?
इस समय योग से प्राणों का विसर्जन करूंगा। घत्ता-शशि सूर से, मन्दर मन्दराचल से और इन्द्र इन्द्र से उपमित किया जाता है, परन्तु हे नन्दादेवी- घत्ता-हे भाई, मैं वनवास में प्रवेश करूँगा। धरती के मोह रस से भ्रान्त अपयश के भाजन इस जीवन पुत्र, एक (केवल) तुम्हारा दूसरा प्रतिमान (उपमान) दिखाई नहीं देता" ॥३॥
