महापुराणे उत्तरपुराणम् गोवर्धनश्चतुर्थोऽन्यो भद्रबाहुमहातपाः । नानानयविचित्रार्थसमस्तश्रतपूर्णताम् ॥ ५२०॥ एते क्रमेण पञ्चापि प्राप्स्यन्त्याप्तविशुद्धयः । ततो भावी विशाखार्यः प्रोष्टिलः क्षत्रियान्तकः ॥ ५२१ ॥ जयनामानुनागाह: सिद्धार्थो तिषेणकः । विजयो बुद्धिलो गङ्गदेवश्च क्रमतो मताः ॥ ५२२ ॥ एकादश सह श्रीमद्धर्मसेनेन धीमता । द्वादशानार्थकुशला दशपूर्वधराश्च ते ॥ ५२३ ॥ भव्यानां कल्पवृक्षाः स्युजिनधर्मप्रकाशकाः । ततो नक्षत्रनामा च' जयपालश्च पाण्डुना ॥ ५२४ ॥ मसेनोऽनुकंसार्यो विदितैकादशाङ्गकाः । सुभद्रश्च यशोभद्रो यशोबाहुः प्रकृष्टधीः ।। ५२५ ॥ लोहनामा चतुर्थः स्यादाचाराविदस्त्वमी। जिनेन्द्रवदनोद्गीर्ण पावनं पापलोपनम् ॥ ५२६ ॥ श्रुतं तपोभृतामेषां प्रणेष्यति परम्परा । शेषैरपि श्रुतज्ञानस्यैको देशस्तपोधनैः ॥ ५२७ ॥ जिनसेनानुगैर्वीरसेनैः प्राप्तमहद्धिभिः। समासे दुष्षमायाः प्राक्प्रायशो वर्तयिष्यते ॥ ५२८ ॥ भरतः सागराख्योऽनु सत्यवीर्यो उजनैः स्तुतः । महीशो मित्रभावासो मित्रवीर्योऽर्यमद्यतिः॥ ५२९ ॥ धर्मदानादिवीयौं च मघवान् बुद्धवीर्यकः । सीमन्धरखिपृष्ठाल्यः स्वयम्भूः पुरुषोरामः ॥ ५३॥ पुण्डरीकान्तपुरुषो दराः सत्यादिभिः स्तुतः । कुनालः पालकः पृथ्व्याः पतिर्नारायणो नृणाम् ॥ ५३१ ॥ सुभौमः सार्वभौमोऽजितञ्जयो विजयाभिधः । उग्रसेनो महासेनो जिनस्त्वं श्रेणिकेस्यमी ।। ५३२॥ सर्वे क्रमेण श्रीमन्तो धर्मप्रमविदां वराः । चतुर्विंशतितीर्थेशा सन्ततं पादसेविनः ॥ ५३३ ॥ पुरूरवाः सुरः प्राच्यकल्पेऽभूजरतात्मजः । मरीचिब्रझकल्पोत्थस्ततोऽभूज्जटिलद्विजः ॥ ५३४ ॥ सुरः सौधर्मकल्पेऽनु पुष्यमित्रद्विजस्ततः । सौधर्मजोऽमरस्तस्माद्विजन्मानिसमायः ॥ ५३५ ॥
सनत्कुमारदेवोऽस्मादग्निमित्राभिधो द्विजः । मरुन्माहेन्द्रकल्पेऽभूदुभारद्वाजो द्विजान्वये ॥ ५३६ ॥ इनके बाद नन्दी मुनि, श्रेष्ठ नन्दीमित्र, अपराजित, गोवर्द्धन और महातपस्वी भद्रबाहु मुनि होंगे। ये पाँचो ही मुनि अतिशय विशुद्धिके धारक होकर अनुक्रमसे अनेक नयोंसे विचित्र अर्थोंका निरूपण करनेवाले पूर्ण श्रुतज्ञानको प्राप्त होंगे अर्थात् श्रुतकेवली होंगे। इनके बाद विशाखार्य, प्रोष्ठिल, क्षत्रिय, जय, नागसेन, सिद्धार्थ, धृतिषेण, विजय, बुद्धिल, गङ्गदेव और बुद्धिमान धर्मसेन ये ग्यारह अनुक्रमसे होंगे तथा द्वादशाङ्गका अर्थ कहने में कुशल और दश पूर्वके धारक होंगे ।। ५१३-५२२ ॥ ये ग्यारह मुनि भव्यों के लिए कल्पवृक्षके समान तथा जैनधर्मका प्रकाश करनेवाले होंगे। उनके बाद नक्षत्र, जयपाल, पाण्डु, ध्रुवसेन और कंसार्य ये ग्यारह अङ्गोंके जानकार होंगे। इनके बाद सुभद्र, यशोभद्र, प्रकृष्ट बुद्धिमान, यशोबाहु और चौथे लोहाचार्य ये चार आचाराङ्गके जानकार होंगे । इन सब तपस्वियोंकी यह परम्परा जिनेन्द्रदेवके मुखकमलसे निकले हुए, पवित्र तथा पापोंका लोप करनेवाले शास्त्रोंका प्ररूपण करेंगे। इनके बाद बड़ी-बड़ी ऋद्धियोंको धारण करनेवाले जिनसे वीरसेन आदि अन्य तपस्वी भी श्रुतज्ञानके एकदेशका प्ररूपण करेंगे। प्रायः कर श्रुतज्ञानका यह एकदेश दुषमा नामक पश्चम कालके अन्त तक चलता रहेगा ।। ५२३-५२८ ॥ भरत, सागर, मनुष्यों के द्वारा प्रशंसनीय सत्यवीर्य, राजा मित्रभाव, सूर्यके समान कांतिवाला मित्रवीर्य, धर्मवीर्य, दानवीये. मघवा,बुद्धवीय, सीमन्धर, त्रिपृष्ठ, स्वयम्भू, पुरुषोत्तम, पुरुषपुण्डरीक, प्रशंसनीय सत्यदत्त, पृथिवीका पालक कुनाल, मनुष्योंका स्वामी नारायण, सुभौम, सार्वभौम, अजितञ्जय, विजय, उग्रसेन, महासेन और आगे चलकर जिनेन्द्रका पद प्राप्त करनेवाला तू, गौतम स्वामी राजा श्रेणिकसे कहते हैं कि हे श्रेणिक ! ये सभी पुरुष श्रीमान् हैं, धर्म सम्बन्धी प्रश्न करनेवालोंमें श्रेष्ठ हैं,
और निरन्तर चौबीस तीर्थंकरोंके चरण-कमलोंकी सेवा करनेवाले हैं। ५२६-५३३ ।। भर महावीर स्वामीका जीव पहले पुरूरवा नामका भील था, फिर पहले स्वर्गमें देव हुआ, फिर भरतका पुत्र मरीचि हुआ, फिर ब्रह्मस्वर्गमें देव हुआ, फिर जटिल नामका ब्राह्मण हुअा ॥५३४ ।। फिर सौधर्म स्वर्गमें देव हुआ, फिर पुष्यमित्र नामका ब्राह्मण हुआ, फिर अग्निसम नामका ब्राह्मण हुआ ॥५३५ ।। फिर सनत्कुमार स्वगमें देव हुआ, फिर अग्निमित्र नामका ब्राह्मण हुआ, फिर

These eleven will be like Kalpa-vriksha for the glorious ones, and will illuminate the Jain Dharma. After them will come Nakshatra, Jayapala, Pandu, Dhruva-sena, and Kansarya, who will be knowledgeable in the eleven Angas. || 523 ||

After them will come Subhadra, Yasho-bhadra, the highly intelligent Yasho-bahu, and the fourth, Loha-acharya, who will be knowledgeable in the Achara-anga. || 524 ||

This tradition of these ascetics, who are full of knowledge and penance, will be propagated by the scriptures, which are pure and destroy sins, and which were uttered from the lotus mouth of the Jina. || 525 ||

After them, other ascetics like Jina-sena and Vira-sena, who possess great powers, will propagate a part of the knowledge of the scriptures. This part of the knowledge of the scriptures will continue until the end of the last time period, called Dushama. || 526 ||

Bharata, Sagar, the praiseworthy Satyaviry, the king Mitra-bhavana, the radiant Mitra-virya like the sun, Dharma-virya, the generous Maghava, the wise Buddhi-virya, Simandhara, Tri-prishtha, Swayambhu, Purushottama, Purusha-pundarika, the praiseworthy Satyadatta, Kunala, the protector of the earth, Narayana, the lord of men, Subhauma, Sarvabhauma, Ajita-jaya, Vijay, Ugra-sena, Maha-sena, and you, who will attain the position of the Jina, say to the king Shrenika, "O Shrenika! All these men are glorious, the best among those who ask questions about Dharma, and they are constantly serving the lotus feet of the twenty-four Tirthankaras." || 527 ||
