चिरमेवं तपः कृत्वा प्रान्ते स्वाराधनाविधिः । भविष्यत्पञ्चकल्याणः प्राणतेन्द्रोऽभवद्विभुः ॥ १५॥ सागरोपमविंशत्यामितायुः शुक्ललेश्यकः । सा रत्नित्रयोत्सेधो मासैर्दशभिरुच्छ्वसन् ॥ १६ ॥ संवत्सरसहस्राणां विंशत्यामाहिताहतिः । मनाग्मनःप्रवीचारभोगोऽष्टद्धिंसमन्वितः ॥ १७ ॥ आपञ्चमावनेरात्मगोचरव्यावृतावधिः । तत्क्षेत्रमितशक्त्यादिश्चिरं तत्रान्वभूत् सुखम् ॥१८॥ तस्मिन् षण्मासशेषायुष्यागमिष्यति भूतलम् । जन्मगेहाङ्गणं तस्य रत्नवृष्ट्याचिंतं सुरैः ॥ १९ ॥ अत्रैव भरते 'राजा पुरे राजगृहाइये । सुमित्रो मगधाधीशो हरिवंशशिखामणिः ॥ २०॥ गोत्रेण काश्यपस्तस्य देवी सोमाया सुरैः । पूजिता श्रावणे मासि नक्षत्रे श्रवणे दिने ॥ २१ ॥ स्वमान् कृष्णद्वितीयायां स्वर्गावतरणोन्मुखे । प्राणताधीश्वरेऽपश्यत् षोडशेष्टार्थसूचकान् ॥ २२ ॥ गजराजं च वक्त्रं स्वं प्रविशन्तं प्रभाविनम् । तेनैव परितोषेण प्रबुद्धा शुद्धवेषत् ॥ २३ ॥ नृपमावेदयत्स्वमांस्तत्फलश्रवणेच्छया । सावधिः सोऽप्यभाषिष्ट सम्भूतिं त्रिजगत्पतेः ॥ २४ ॥ तद्वाश्रवणसम्फुल्लमनोवदनपङ्कजा । तदैवायातदेवेन्द्रकृताभिषवणोत्सवा ॥ २५ ॥ सुरोपनीतभोगोपभोगैः 'स्वर्गसुखावहैः । नवमं मासमासाद्य सुखेनासूत सुप्रजाम् ॥ २६ ॥ संवत्सरचतुःपञ्चाशल्लक्षप्रमितं व्रजन् । मल्लीशतीर्थसन्तानकालान्तर्गतजीवितम् ॥ २७ ॥ तजन्मसमयायातैः स्वदीप्तिम्याप्तदिङ्मुखैः । मेरौ सुरेन्द्रः सम्प्राप मुनिसुव्रतसुश्रुतिम् ॥ २८ ॥
स्वर्ग अथवा मोक्ष जानेवाले राजाओंके साथ संयम धारण कर लिया ।। १२-१३ ।। उन्होंने गुरुके समागमसे ग्यारह अंगोंका अध्ययन किया और दर्शनविशुद्धि आदि भावनाओंका चिन्तवन कर सीर्थकर गोत्रका बन्ध किया ।। १४ ॥ इस तरह चिर कालतक तपकर आयुके अन्तमें समाधिमरणके द्वारा, जिसके आगे चलकर पाँच कल्याणक होनेवाले हैं ऐसा प्राणत स्वर्गका इन्द्र हुश्रा ।। १५ ।। बहाँ बीस सागर प्रमाण उसकी आयु थी, शुक्ल लेश्या थी, साढे तीन हाथ ऊंचा शरीर था, वह दश माह में एक बार श्वास लेता था, बीस हजार वर्ष में एक वार आहार ग्रहण करता था, मन-सम्बन्थी थोडासा कामभोग करता था, और पाठ ऋद्धियोंसे सहित था ॥ १६-१७ ॥ पाँचवीं पृथ्वी तक उसके अवधिज्ञानका विषय था और उतनी ही दूर तक उसकी दीप्ति तथा शक्ति आदिका संचार था। इस प्रकार वह वहाँ चिरकाल तक सुखका उपभोग करता रहा। जब उसकी आयु छहमाहकी बाकी रह गई और वह वहाँ पृथिवी तलपर आने वाला हुआ तब उसके जन्मगृहके आंगनकी देवोंने रनवृष्टिके द्वारा पूजा की ॥ १८-१६॥
इसी भरतक्षेत्रके मगधदेशमें एक राजगृह नामका नगर है। उसमें हरिवंशका शिरोमणि सुमित्र नामका राजा राज्य करता था ॥ २०॥ वह काश्यपगोत्री था, उसकी रानीका नाम सोमा था, देवोंने उसकी पूजा की थी। तदनन्तर श्रावण कृष्ण द्वितीयाके दिन श्रवण नक्षत्रमें जब पूर्वोक्त प्राणतेन्द्र स्वर्गसे अवतार लेनेके सन्मुख हुआ तब रानी सोमाने इष्ट अर्थको सूचित करने वाले सोलह स्वप्न देखे और उनके बाद ही अपने मुंह में प्रवेश करता हुआ एक प्रभाववान् हाथी देखा। इसी हर्षसे वह जाग उठी और शुद्ध वेषको धारणकर राजाके पास गई। यहाँ फल सुननेकी इच्छासे उसने राजाको सब स्वप्न सुनाये ॥ २१-२३ ॥ अवधिज्ञानी राजाने बतलाया कि तुम्हारे तीन जगत्के स्वामी जिनेन्द्र भगवान्का जन्म होगा ॥२४॥ राजाके वचन सुनते ही रानीका हृदय तथा मुखकमल खिल उठा। उसी समय देवोंने आकर उसका अभिषेकोत्सव किया ॥२५॥ स्वर्गीय सुख प्रदान करने वाले देवोपनीत भोगोपभोगोंसे उसका समय आनन्दसे बीतने लगा। अनुक्रमसे नवमा माह पाकर उसने सुखसे उत्तम बालक उत्पन्न किया ॥ २६ ।। श्रीमल्लिनाथ तीर्थंकरके बाद जब धौवन लाख वर्ष बीत चुके तब इनका जन्म हुआ था, इनकी आयु भी इसीमें शामिल थी॥२७ ।। जन्मसमयमें आये हुए एवं अपनी प्रभासे समस्त दिङ्मण्डलको व्याप्त करने वाले इन्द्रोंने सुमेरु पर्वतपर

In the **Bharata-Kṣetra** (land of India), in the **Magadha** country, there was a city called **Rājagṛha**. There, **Su-mitra**, the **Hari-vaṁśa** (descendant of Hari) jewel, ruled as king. || 20 ||

He belonged to the **Kāśyapa** gotra (lineage), and his queen was named **Somā**. The gods worshipped her. On the second day of the dark fortnight of **Śrāvaṇa** (August-September), in the **Śravaṇa** constellation, when the aforementioned **Prāṇa-Tej** was about to descend from heaven, Queen Somā saw sixteen dreams that indicated auspicious events. After that, she saw a powerful elephant entering her mouth. Filled with joy, she woke up, donned pure garments, and went to the king. || 21-23 ||

With a desire to hear the meaning of the dreams, she told the king about them. The king, knowing the limits of time, said that the **Tri-jagat-pate** (Lord of the Three Worlds), the **Jina-endra** (Victorious Lord), would be born to her. || 24 ||

Hearing the king's words, the queen's heart and face blossomed. At that moment, the gods came and performed her **Abhiṣeka-utsava** (coronation ceremony). || 25 ||

She enjoyed her time with heavenly pleasures provided by the gods. In the ninth month, she gave birth to a noble child. || 26 ||
