## Chapter Thirty-One
The nations, their boundaries, and their kings were born to serve the Lord Bharata, and he, in turn, bestowed upon them many fruits. ||73||
He subdued the kings who lived beyond the sea, and those who lived on islands in the sea. He captured the elephants born in the forests and nurtured them. ||74||
He obtained from them various precious jewels as he desired, and, satisfied, he reinstated them in their places by his command. ||75||
The great fortresses on the mountains and those built underground were all subdued by his army. What is impossible for the great? ||76||
Thus, having conquered all the kings of the east, he set out from the middle of the earth towards the south, desiring to conquer the kings of the south. ||77||
Wherever the victorious Bharata's army, led by excellent commanders, went, the kings and their vassals bowed down and paid homage. ||78||
In the south, he conquered the kings of Trilinga, Audra, Kachchha, Prātar, Kerala, Chera, and Punnaga. ||79||
He also subdued the kings of Kuṭa, Olika, Mahiṣa, Kamekura, Pāṇḍya, and Antarapāṇḍya by his might. ||80||
Having quickly conquered all these kings, he made them bow down at his feet, and, taking their precious jewels, he attained supreme joy. ||81||
The commander-in-chief, carrying out the emperor's command, also roamed through many mountains, rivers, and countries near the Kalinga forest. ||82||
He, along with his armies, reached the great rivers of Taila, Ikshumati, Nakarava, Vanga, and Śvasana. ||83||
