The Twenty-Eighth Chapter
"By whom has this arrow been released, by a god or a demon? We are ready to retaliate against him, O Lord!" (126)
Thus, the protective warriors, having arrived quickly, informed the Lord. The Lord, silencing them with a loud voice, replied, "Be quiet, warriors! There is no benefit in such talk." (127)
"You are the same ones who are under my command, and I am the same Magadha. Have I ever tolerated an enemy before? Have you ever heard of this?" (128)
"A man who endures life stained with defeat is not considered a man by virtue of his qualities, but only by his gender." (129)
"A man who desires to be a man only in name, without the qualities of manhood, is either a man depicted in a painting or a man made of straw and wood." (130)
"The man who purifies his lineage and birth through his valor is truly a man. On the other hand, the man who falsely claims to be a warrior should not have been born on this earth." (131)
"We are called 'gods' because of our desire to conquer enemies, not because of our carefree wandering. Therefore, our wealth always comes from conquering enemies." (132)
"Whoever worships another by offering him jewels, elephants, horses, and royal insignia like umbrellas and fly whisks, his wealth is for the enjoyment of others. I consider such wealth to be a mockery." (133)
"This king who shoots arrows wants wealth from me. For his sake, I will give him death along with war." (134)
"First, I will break this arrow and make it the first fuel for my fire of anger. Then, I will fuel it with the pieces of the enemy's body." (135)
