The sixtieth chapter: "The world is characterized by ignorance, hatred, and attachment, while liberation is the opposite, i.e., characterized by right knowledge and equanimity. If the wise see this, then what is the delay in attaining liberation?" ||213|| Just as a jewel dropped from the hand into the middle of the ocean cannot be retrieved even if all the resources of the land, time, etc., are available, similarly, even if all the resources of the land, time, etc., are available, how can one attain tapasya if it is not practiced? ||214|| Therefore, O Atman, on the path of liberation, which is beneficial to the Atman, abandon your evil nature and accept your own Atman as the Supreme Atman within your own Atman through your own Atman. ||215|| Thinking thus, the king Hiranyavarma, the knower of the Supreme Truth, went to his city and, after performing the coronation ceremony for his son Suvarnavarma, he descended from the Vijayardha mountain to the earth and, reaching the city of Sri-pura, the abode of Lakshmi, he received Jain initiation in the presence of the Sri-pala Guru. ||216, 217|| Freed from the clutches of attachment, he became pure like the sun after receiving initiation. King Hiranyavarma was shining brightly with the rays of tapasya. ||218|| It is fitting that Prabhavati, the mother of Hiranyavarma, also received tapasya from the noble Aryika Gunavati along with Shashi-prabha, for how can there be a separate existence of moonlight without the moon? ||219|| The Muni-raja Hiranyavarma appeared just like the sun, for just as the sun is perfect, so too is he perfect in his conduct. Just as the sun shines brightly with the heat of tapasya, so too does the Muni-raja shine brightly with the tapasya of fasting, etc. Just as the sun is the ornament of the directions and the sky, so too is the Muni-raja the ornament of the direction-like garments, the liberated monks. Just as the sun is independent and alone, so too is the Muni-raja independent and free from attachments. Just as the sun travels through the sky, so too does the Muni-raja travel through the sky due to his ability to walk on air. Just as the sun travels alone, so too does the Muni-raja travel alone, being a solitary wanderer. Just as everyone worships the sun, so too does everyone worship the Muni-raja. ||220||
