The Mahapurana states that the daughter of Manोरथ, चित्ररथा, was given to the son of Kanya. They say so, and he, after giving permission, dismissed his relatives. [181] Having performed the coronation of Hiranyavarma as the king of all birds, and having reached the abode of the Munis with many, he, along with Vayuratha, himself embraced restraint. He performed the twelve types of austerities as prescribed. [182-183] Saying this, I, Rativega, am also Ratishena, and I am also Prabhavati. Sulochana declared this to the assembly. [184] Hearing this, Jaya also said, "I am the husband of those three in succession." He spoke words that astonished the world. [185] Again, Jaya said to his beloved, "Tell me, my dear, whatever is left." [186] Due to the husband's questioning, Sulochana, like the moon illuminating the Kumudini, illuminated the assembly with the brilliance of her teeth. She spoke, as it was, the news born of her own merit. [187] Hiranyavarma, born of the kingdom, enjoyed the happiness as he wished. [188] One day, while roaming with his beloved, Hiranyavarma, the son of Aditya, reached the forest called Dhanyakamala. Seeing the lake there, he saw all the connections of his previous birth as if they were present. He, who is the best of the wise, who has attained detachment due to the gain of time, thought, "This union, which is the object of desire for all beings, is fragile. What is this happiness born of a little accumulation? This life is as fickle as the wind. This body, the abode of many diseases, is fit to be abandoned. This kingdom, which gives many faults, is enjoyed by the fickle." [189-192] This body, which is near its end, is impermanent and the abode of evil. With this mind, which is impure and loves this body, one identifies oneself with it. [193]
