Mahapuraanam
The sound of millions of trumpets rising simultaneously from both armies filled all directions. || 312 || Although the moon is with the west, the sun rises with me. Thus, as if out of love, the east was adorned even before sunrise. || 313 || The line of bees, with their lotus-like eyes, awakened, went out to their desired object, as if in sleep, with great joy. || 314 || The lotus, shrinking at my setting, was adorned by the sun with his rays at his rising. This is indeed friendship. || 315 || The sun, red with love, embraced the evening with his rays, and quickly became devoid of redness, as if saying, "These enjoyments are tasteless at the end." || 316 || "He embraced his wife, the evening, as before." Thus, the east, even though loving the sun's redness, did not tolerate him for a moment. || 317 || The commanders, observing their vows, spent the night on their beds of valor. After bathing in the morning, they satisfied all the poor, the helpless, and the beggars. They worshipped the Jina, the Lord of the three worlds, with due rites, and praised him. Then, dividing their armies, they stood ready for battle. || 318 - 319 || Jayakumar, whose name is praised by the prisoners and the bards, who is eager for victory, whose form is distorted like Yama, who is terrifying, and who can even dispel the pride of elephants, mounted his chariot, named Ariinjaya, drawn by white horses, and carrying the Vajrakanḍa bow, given to him by the former Chakravarti.
