The west swallowed the sun, as if it were consuming the one who gave me birth. The sun, as if angered, turned red. ||274||
I am ashamed to be seen with the sun, so the evening, as if taking on a form, followed the sun. ||275||
The sun, having gone to the day, had left me behind, but now, going to the night, it has left me behind again. The evening, overwhelmed with sorrow, disappeared. ||276||
The darkness, which had hidden in caves and other places during the day, spread everywhere. The wise do not leave their enemies behind, they destroy them completely. ||277||
Just as the sky had given space to the light before, so it gave space to the darkness afterwards. Therefore, the Acharya says, "Shame on the greatness of the sky." Meaning: Even if one is great, if one does not know the difference between right and wrong, then what is the use of that greatness? ||278||
Just as in the Kali Yuga, due to the absence of the Jina, ignorance spreads and the influence of many evil people increases, so at that time, due to the absence of the sun, the light of many lamps and other things spread due to the darkness. ||279||
Then the moon rose, as if the Creator had lifted a silver pot filled with nectar to awaken the world, which was blinded by darkness. ||280||
At that time, the moon was drinking the thick darkness with its rays, as if it were smoking to cure a cough or a wasting disease. ||281||
The moon was unable to destroy all the darkness. This is because, how can one whose sphere is impure and who is not powerful destroy enemies? ||282||
The lotus flowers in the ponds were blooming profusely due to the touch of the moon's rays, and they looked as if they were looking at the moon with their blooming lotus-like eyes. ||283||
