The Great Purana, dividing its strength, spread across the vast expanse of the earth, all equal. The enemy force, led by Makaravyuh, was completely forgotten. [10] Jayakumar, whose voice had conquered the roar of the clouds, was resplendent, with a mighty and terrifying roar, his voice echoing through the dense clouds. [110] Arkakriti, standing amidst his massive army, was adorned with a Chakravyuh formation, shining like the sun surrounded by its rays. [111] The lords of the sky, led by Sunami, were enraged and stood apart in a Garuda formation, following the command of the Chakravarti's son. [112] The eight-moon-like celestial beings, known as Chakra, surrounded the son, protecting his body with their unwavering devotion. [113] The two armies, amidst the beginning of an untimely apocalypse, with the roar of the clouds rising, quickly and simultaneously played their instruments. [114] The warriors, armed with bows, who were the forerunners of the battle, began to make their way through the ranks with their terrifying roars. [115] The bow-wielding heroes, who were like the thread-holders in the beginning of the play of war, entered the battlefield, led by the roaring instruments. [116] The bow-wielding warriors, having secured their positions in the battlefield, released a shower of sharp arrows, resembling a scattering of flower offerings. [117] They, with their arrows mounted on bows, were always like wicked beings, for just as wicked beings are sharp, meaning cruel, so too were those arrows sharp, meaning pointed. Just as wicked beings pierce the heart, so too do those arrows pierce the heart. Just as wicked beings are quarrelsome, so too are those arrows quarrelsome. And just as wicked beings, after speaking sweet words, penetrate within, so too do those arrows, with their pleasing sound, penetrate within. [118]
