Mahapuraanam
Whether a man becomes wealthy by collecting taxes from the earth or not, if he receives the hand of this Sulochana, Lakshmi is considered to be in his hands. 265
The saltiness (lavanya) in men is in the ocean, and the beauty (lavanya) in women is in this Sulochana. This is why all the rivers have reached the ocean, and all the kings have come near her. 266
Even after being consumed by the eyes of everyone, her beauty (lavanya) continues to grow. But the ocean has been abandoned by Lakshmi, so how can it possess it? 267
The ocean boasts of its wealth of jewels in vain, for it is only adorned by the kings Akampan and Rani Suprabha, who possess this jewel-like daughter. 268
