## The Twenty-Seventh Chapter
Even though the sun was in the middle of the sky, impartial and without bias, it still scorched the earth intensely. Indeed, even the middle ground of intensely hot things is itself scorching. (100)
Just as lotus plants hold lotus flowers adorned with water droplets, so too did the wives of King Bharat hold their faces, adorned with a network of sweat droplets like pearls. (101)
The sweat droplets that rose on the lotus-like faces of the queens, like a stream of beauty-essence flowing forth, enhanced their radiance. (102)
The faces of the queens, dripping with sweat droplets, shone like lotuses drenched in dew. (103)
The lotus-like faces of the queens, adorned with sweat droplets, seemed as if pearls, melted and liquefied, were adorning their hair. (104)
The charioteers, driving their chariots, had their mouths foaming with exertion, their horses slipping on the ground even though it was level, their hooves burning with heat. (105)
The horses, with their small, round hooves, soft, smooth hair, tall stature, and broad backs, moved with the speed of the wind. (106)
The great horses, with their swiftness, seemed to be spitting out their front hooves from their mouths, their chests broad, their nostrils flaring, and they moved quickly. (107)
With their high foreheads, pure swirls on their bodies, and speed like the mind, the horses moved swiftly on the narrow path. (108)
Possessing intelligence, strength, and speed, polite and with graceful movements, the horses, as if disgusted by the touch of the earth, moved quickly. (109)
Even the foot soldiers and the charioteers moved swiftly, their steps like stairs, their feet adorned with thorns and pebbles. (110)
