## Mahapurana: The Surendra Mantra and the Paramraja Mantra

This is the Surendra Mantra, which pleases Surendra. I will now speak of the Paramraja Mantra, as it is heard in the scriptures. ||56||
First, one should recite the word "Satyajataaya Swaha" (To the one born of truth, I offer). Then, one should recite the word "Arhajataaya Swaha" (To the one born worthy, I offer). ||57||
Then, one should recite the word "Anupamendraaya Swaha" (To the incomparable Indra, I offer). After that, one should recite the word "Vijayajataaya Swaha" (To the one born of victory, I offer). ||58||
Then, one should recite the word "Neminaathaaya Swaha" (To the Lord Neminaath, I offer). After that, one should recite the word "Paramrajaaya Swaha" (To the supreme king, I offer). ||59||
Then, one should recite the word "Paramarhataaya Swaha" (To the supreme worthy, I offer). After that, the twice-born should recite the word "Anupamaaya Swaha" (To the incomparable, I offer). ||60||
Then, one should recite the word "Samyagdristi" twice, followed by the word "Ugratejah" twice, and then the word "Dishaanjay" twice, and finally the word "Nemivijay" twice, ending with "Swaha". ||61||
One should then recite the "Kamya Mantra" using the same three words as before: "Samyagdriste Samyagdriste Ugratejah Ugratejah Dishaanjay Dishaanjay Nemivijay Nemivijay Swaha" (To the Samyagdristi, to the one with fierce power, to the conqueror of directions, to the Nemivijay, I offer). ||62||
