## The Thirty-Sixth Chapter
**138.** The thief of the six passions could not steal their wealth of the three jewels, because they were always vigilant and never careless. **Meaning:** Even in the world, it is seen that a person who is always awake and never careless, is not robbed. Bhagavan Bahubali was constantly absorbed in the investigation of his consequences and did not even allow carelessness to approach him. Therefore, the thief of the six passions could not steal their wealth of the three jewels.
**139.** They were always silent, so they never had any regard for idle talk. And their fortress of the mind was very well guarded, so it could not be broken by the senses. **Meaning:** They never engaged in idle talk and kept their five senses and mind under control.
**140.** In their vast house of the mind, the lamp of knowledge always shone brightly. Therefore, all things were worthy of their contemplation, i.e., they were worthy of being meditated upon. **Meaning:** To contemplate on things, one needs to have knowledge. Muniraj Bahubali had knowledge of all things, therefore, all things were worthy of his contemplation.
**141.** They constantly contemplated on all the things of the world through their knowledge of perception and scriptural knowledge. Therefore, this world was as clear to them as a myrobalan fruit held in the hand.
**142.** Those who are radiant from conquering the hardships and who have conquered the enemies of the senses, such Bahubali were experiencing the kingdom of austerity by piercing through the enemies of the six passions.
**143.** Due to the power of their austerity, many powers arising from their yoga manifested in those Muniraj. From this, their power to shake the three worlds became apparent.
**144.** At that time, their four types of knowledge, namely perception, knowledge, covering, and cessation of covering, increased.
**145.** Due to the increase in perception and knowledge, their powers like the power of the treasury manifested. And due to the increase in scriptural knowledge, the expansion of the power of knowing all the limbs and the past, etc., took place.
**146.** They surpassed the highest limit in the knowledge of perception and attained all limits. They also attained vast knowledge in the knowledge of the mind's activities.
**147.** Due to the purity of their knowledge, the purity of their austerity also became very high. It is right because just as the root is the main reason for the growth of a large tree, similarly, knowledge is the main reason for the establishment of austerity.
