Chapter Thirty-Five
This Bharat is a Tulapurusha, weighed against all the jewels. Alas, such wealth does not exist. ||132|| He desires to seize the earth given by our revered father, Lord Rishabhadeva. What remedy is there for this greedy one, except to reject him? ||133|| O messenger, this earth, given by our father, is like a brother's wife to Bharat. He desires to take it. Does your master have no shame? ||134|| Those who are independent and desire to conquer their enemies at will, can give away everything except their family and the earth earned by their arms. ||135|| Therefore, it is useless to speak again and again. Let Bharat enjoy this earth marked by a single umbrella, or let me, the one with strength in my arms, enjoy it. Meaning: He cannot enjoy this earth without being defeated by me. ||136|| What is the use of these empty words of valor, which are devoid of the fulfillment of their purpose? Now, my valor and Bharat's should be revealed on the anvil of battle. ||137|| Therefore, O messenger, take this our unambiguous word, and tell Bharat that whatever is to be, will be in the midst of the battle. ||138|| Thus, the proud Kumar Bahubali dismissed the messenger, saying, "Go and quickly prepare your master for battle." ||139|| At that time, the kings rose up, their crowns clashing, scattering millions of jewels, which seemed to be spreading hundreds of sparks of fire. ||140|| At that moment, in the army of Maharaj Bahubali, filled with countless warriors, the sound of warriors talking to each other, announcing the approach of battle, could be heard. ||141|| This preparation for battle by our master has taken a long time. Will we ever be free from the debt of his kindness? Meaning: Our master has nurtured us for so long.
