Chapter Thirty-Four
O Chakradhara, you must act swiftly in this matter. A wise person does not neglect even a small amount of debt, wound, fire, or enemy. ||46||
O King, let this earth be ruled by you alone, and not by your brothers, for it will be in a state of disarray with many kings. ||47||
O Lord, the word "king" is not fitting for anyone else while you are king. How can a deer claim the title of "lion" while a lion is present? ||48||
O Lord, let your brothers follow you, free from envy. It is the scriptural duty of younger brothers to follow their elder brother, who is the chief in this time. ||49||
Send your messengers to them, and speak to them with reason. If they do not obey your commands, then engage in conflict and speak to them differently. ||50||
If anyone, puffed up with false pride, does not submit to you, then alas, he will destroy himself and his kingdom. ||51||
Kingdom and noble wives are not ordinary things. They are meant to be enjoyed by one man. The man who enjoys them with others is no better than an animal. ||52||
What is the point of saying more? Either they should come and bow to you, or they should seek refuge in the Jina, the protector of the world. ||53||
There is no third path for them. These are the only two options: either they enter your camp, or they enter the forest with the deer. ||54||
Those who do not follow you will burn their own families like embers. Those who follow you will find true happiness. ||55||
They have decided that they will not bow to anyone. ||45||
