17th Cent. of V. S., in his kavya Vidvatprabodha included in the Sangraha. Not knowing the principle that determines the meanings of these words, one might think that the ekakşarī or dyakşarī lexicons were possibly produced to help the poets who engaged themselves in composing poetry abounding in verbal jugglary and śleșas. But a limited number of meanings of a particular word suggests that there must be some principle governing the mennings of these one-lettered or two-lettered words. It is left for the scholars to find it out.
