Vasudevahindi : Majjhima-khamda According to Raghavan? Vadijānghāla on Kävyädarsa I 27 mentions Mandaravati Lambha and Rati Lambha. This Mandaravati Lambha is possibly the same as the story of Sundarasena and Mandaravati occurring in the Saśārkavati Lambaka of KSS ( 101, 41-384) and BKM (1265-1433).
6. Relationship of VHM wib various BK version :.
By a detailed comparision of the VHM, VH, KSS and BKM versions of the Prabhāvati story, Jain has shows that in this matter VHM closely corresponds to the Kashmirian versions of BK. Earlier we have also tried to show that Dharmasena had before him a version of the Prabhāvati story, which, compared with the pedestrian version in VH, was very interesting and lively and which made him create a second Prabhavati.
In contrast with the affinity of VH with BKSS, the affinity of VHM with KSS and BKM is further supported by the correspondences with regard to the stories of Aşta-kanya, Indrasena Malayaseni etc. (VHM) as we have pointed out in Tabic I above.
It seems quite likely that the source (or one of the common sources) for VHM, KSS and BKM in these matters was the lost Sanskrit version of BK reported to have been prepared in the first half of the sixth century by the Ganga king Durvinita 9 VH was probably earlier than the latter, and hence the earliest among the available versions of BK. Secondly, the story of Kanakavati in VHM, incorporating that of Nala and Damayantı is found reproduced with all the details in the Jain versions of JHp and TSp. The references to Vasudeva winning Sukosalā and Avantisundari quite possibly relate to the VHM stories of Sukosalā and Avantivardhanā as has been suggested above. These facts definitely establish the importance of VHM for the history and interrelationship of the various versions of BK.
7. The Original BK
A comparision of VH, BKSS, VHM, KSS, BKM and the Sșrgärapra. kaša references (see further below) make it most probable that the original BK had at least four major sections : Kathapitha, Kathämukha, Sarira and Upasamhāra.'
