ऐस्ट्रोलोजिकल मैगेजिन के सन् १९४६ जुलाई और अगस्त के अंकों में जे० मेestors द्वारा लिखित 'क्या पृथ्वी चपटी है ?' शीर्षक लेख दो भागों में प्रकाशित हुआ । भूगोल है इस सिद्धान्त का वहाँ बहुत सारे वैज्ञानिक प्रमाणों से खण्डन किया गया है । पृथ्वी को थाली के आकार का मानकर आज के विश्व व सृष्टि के अन्य नियमों की संगति बैठाई गई है । चूंकि प्रस्तुत लेख का विषय भू-भ्रमण का है ; अतः इसी सम्बन्ध में यहाँ उस लेख की कुछ पंक्तियाँ उद्धृत की जाती हैं- "सूर्य की गोलाकार और निरन्तर गति हर तरह से प्रयोगों द्वारा दिखाई जा सकती है । सूर्य गति करता है । यह सिद्धान्त कि पृथ्वी अपनी धुरी पर १००० मील प्रति घण्टे की रफ्तार से चलती है, हास्यास्पद है ।" इस प्रकार भारतवर्ष में और भारतवर्ष के बाहर तथा प्रकार के स्फुट विचार इस सम्बन्ध में रखे जाते रहे हैं । पी० एल० ज्योग्राफी आदि ग्रन्थ भी भारतीयों द्वारा लिखे गये, जिनमें भू-भ्रमण सम्बन्धी समस्त पहलुओं पर तार्किक विश्लेषण किया गया है ।
एक समीक्षा
स्थिति यह थी कि गुरुत्वाकर्षण, वायुमण्डल आदि पूरक सिद्धान्तों की कल्पना कर लेने पर भी भु-भ्रमरणवाद के सामने कुछ प्रश्न ज्यों के त्यों खड़े ही रह जाते थे, जिनके समाधान सन्तोषजनक सामने नहीं आ रहे थे । उदाहरणार्थ- ध्रुव तारा उत्तर

Edgell strove for over 50 years in order to study the night skies, he never went to bed but slept in a chair. This eccentric man eventually evolved the theory of a flat, basin shaped earth with the Sun moving north and south across it. He contented that the pole star was only 5000 miles away and that the sun was only 10 miles in diameter.
