text of the same name, its salient feature is the pure, crystal clear pronunciation with superb emotional expression. Now there are about two dozen titles in L.P.-E.P.records and more than 75 in cassette form. On the release of a sixth L.P.(of KALYAN MANDIR STOTRA-Sanskrit) the Editor of "JIN SANDESH" (22-6-1979) said, "Time has proved that the Jain Stotras......sung by Toliya and his group have filled Polydor with everlasting fragrance." WIDENED HORIZONS: ACROSS THE UNIVERSE
Spiritual Guide of MAHATMA GANDHI, and his published works like the ATMASIDDHI SHASHTRA, RAJPAD PARAMGURUPAD, etc., which he has aptly recorded. Toliya humbly transforms all credits of his achievements to this Supreme Master and all the above-referred Great Direct Masters, who have so graciously moulded his versatile life, and guided and helped in his mission. Several Well Wishers, Friends and his Dedicated family members have all helped him tremendously than the so called rich Donors, to whom he has hardly and rarely approached.
Prof. Toliya's published works (Dakshinapath Ki Sadhana Yatra and "Meditation & Jainism") reflect this influence of Srimad Rajchandraji. His book of poetry "Anant Ki Anugooni" won the Government of India Award for Hindi works by Non-Hindi writers.
Prof. Toliya has also recorded Hindu Philosophy-parts of Geeta, Ramayana, Kathopanishad and especially ISHOPANISHAD, L. P. of which was released internationally in 1979 by Prime Minister Morarji Desai, who expressed great appreciation for Prof. Toliya's work. Gujarati and Kannada folk music, Hindi Literary and Patriotic songs, Ghazals and Bhajans and Children's songs found creative expression under his musical baton. Meditational music is his very special creation and experiment.
One of his Plays ("JAB MURDE BHI JAGATE HAIN") on the Freedom Movement being very popular, has been exclusively staged. Apart from his several Radio Plays and Music Features, another noteworthy of his stage Plays is MAHASAINIK, on Non-violence and Gandhiji and his Spiritual Guide Srimad Rajchandraji. It won him Gandhi Centenary Award at the hands of Kaka Kalelkar. The play's English verison titled "COULD THERE BE SUCH A WARRIOR ?" has been especially penned for the peacecraving but violence-brooding West.
His records reached outside India and he was invited to participate in the First International Jain Conference held at the United Nations' Plaza in New York in 1981. This was followed by an Extensive Lecture-cum-concert tour spread over different cities of USA and a period of three months. His Music, Meditation sittings and Talks all were very much appreciated and he was invited 4 more times (*1). He held talks and symposiums at Universities of Rochester, Berkeley and Celveland, etc., presented very interesting & Exclusive Radio & T.V. SHOWS. In his third trip, he performed at open, "India Day" Celebrations and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, New York, and the Ethnic Festival in Danbury (*2). Siddhachalam honoured him with the title of "Jain Sangeet Ratna". The Mayor of Cleveland honoured him twice (in 1981 and 1986) and awarded "Certificates of Appreciation" in recognition of his exceptional talent in music, meditation and Jainological Philosophy, for promoting Cultural exchanges and delivering discourses on the fundamentals of Jainism and Musical Programs for the benefit of all the citizens of Greater Cleveland, especially for the Indian Community." Prof. Toliya's soulful, calming music has been liked by all who have been tired of the noisy modern music. Several News Magazines Published his interviews or wrote articles on him. A number of his unknown listener fans became his and Vardhaman Bharati's intimate friends and Well Wishers and, as a result, it is now being transformed into an International Foundation to take the voice of Vardhaman Bharati to every corner of the world, as it was foreseen by Prof. Toliya's Great Master-Seers.
Apart from the Musical and Literary contributions, Prof. Toliya has also conducted Meditational and Spiritual life building Camps and retreats where the youngsters are taught right conduct and the right knowledge as has been prescribed by the all-encompassing Jaina Philosophy.
Dedicatedly helping him in his endeavours and mission of life is his silent, unassuming wife Smt. Sumitra Toliya, an M.A. in Hindi Literature, Sangeet Visharad and an accomplished artist herself. She has also lent her melodious voice to many of Vardhaman Bharati's records and cassettes. Also the accompanying rich voice and distinct co-operation of Smt. Pauraviben Desai deserves mention. Renowned singers like Kavita Krishnamurthy, Anuradha Paudwal, Suresh Wadkar, Vani Jairam and others have gladly lent their Voices for him. Designing Art of his dedicated Artist-friend Shri Shanker Rao Jain has added very appropriate colours to the Jacket Covers of his Discs and Cassettes. Moreover, a number of Colleagues in India and Abroad, have come willingly to help in his unique mission.
His own family members too deserve special mention. Apart from the inspiring souls of his religious parents and two late brothers, his daughters-in all five-who are trained to be his cultural messengers, are constantly and variedly working with Prof. Toliya. His eldest daughter Kumari Parul was also an M.A. in Hindi and a Winner of a Gold Medal for
