Basis of Composition :- An account pertaining to birthplace etc,, of this 'Suri' is giver. in many a work such as Prabhavakacaritra'. Hence for it we request readers to refer to those very works. We can say nothing about the source of this work 'Nayackra' as well as the date and place of its composition, owing to want of materials dealing with these topics. All the same it appears that the main basis of this work, is works like 'Saptasataranayacakra', We can know
that these works were extract' in the time of the author, But since the author has not clearly mentioned that the basis of this work is these very works, how can we say that these must be definitely the basis? After saying that this Nayacakra' is "ge FETTU T arya KITA
HEPET #FOT ATT ” the author has simply said that the source of this 'Nayacakra is valid proof and the tadition regrading the canon, Admirers (of the author):- The name of this great personage who is a here (prabhavaka) of the 'Jaina' regime and who is a devotee of knowledge and asceitism is first noticed in Haribhadra Suri Anekanta jayapataka (Vol. I pp. 58 & 116) and his commentary on his own work Yogabindu.
Shanti Suri has marvellously praised him ( Mallavadin) by means of a verse in his commentary on the 'Vartika' of Nyayavatara. Moreover, in Vadivetala Shanti Suri's Prakrit commentary (p. 68) on Uttaradhyana Surta (Pr. Uttarajjhayana) there is mention of 'Nayacakra' and its reasoning too. 'Bhadresvara Suri' has given in his prakrit 'Kathavata' (Kahavata ) reasonable information about "Nayacakra' and Mallavadin Nayacakra is mentioned in 'Malladharin Hemachandra Suris commentary on Visesavasyakabhasya' (Pr. Visesavassayabhasa) 'Kalikalasarvajna' (Hemachandra Suri) has extolled excellence of his logical acumen in Siddhahaima grammar as under:

Later on, 'Sahasravadhanin' Munisundara Suri' and a great many other venerable Suris have ‘panegyrized Nayacakra' and 'Mallavadin Suri'. Finally 'Nayacarya' Nayavisarata Upadhyaya Yasovijaya has praised in his Atha prabhavakani Sajjhaya Mallavadin Suri' as a hero amongst disputants, and in his 'Dravyagun Paryayanorasa' he has said that all the twelve spokes can be included (?) in one spoke of 'Nayacakra'. In this way this work and its author are extolled by a great many Jaina Suris,'.
The argumentative power logical acumen of this 'Suri', a hero amongst disputants, was indeed like that of the scorching (heat of the) sun of the mid-day in the case of stars in the form of disputants of other schools in his days. His composition, too, was so very marvellous that by adopting an extra-ordinary style and without using any harsh word, he has made an attempt to reduce to the stage of unreality, disputations and dogmas of others by 'resorting' to saying embodied in contemporaneous or earlier works of their own schools after graping the essence of these sayings. Some of the works utilized by him in this ‘Nayacakra') are such as are not available to-day. Furtear, (In this Nayacakra') there are very very lengthy 'purva-paksas (views of opponents) and discussions which are not to be seen in works so far available and which though knotty are presented in beautiful and lucid way and which are immediately comprehensible and which, when grasped, make profound disputants, the readers and students of this work of his who is expert in
